Moogle's Introduction: Searching for Assistance

In retrospect, my thread title is kind of pretentious.
Anyways, I'm new to this forum. I just got Injustice yesterday and it only took me a few minutes of playing online with my friend to realize I have essentially no idea what I am doing; I mean--I could barely do some of the combos in tutorial mode.
I signed up for this forum seeking advice on how to continually get better at this game. I want to be able to play competitively online with my friends and not to just end up being wrecked repeatedly.
As of now I have nearly no experience with fighting games outside of the Super Smash Brothers series and Playstation All-stars Battle Royale, both of which are drastically different from Injustice.
Any advice on how to improve would be greatly appreciated. I'm honestly not entirely sure where to even begin at the moment.

Firstly, welcome to TYM. :)

Second, I suggest you browse the forums here to get a concept of what things like frame data and such are. If you're just looking for combos and such then you can look into the character forums, you'll probably find some neat stuff. Last but not least, try to play some people from here, you'll level up in no time. ;)

Welcome to TYM, I hope you enjoy your stay!

Like RYX said, hit people up and play against them, try to find someone who will actively teach you the ins and outs of the game. Once you understand the core, you start to find things out on your own. Use your character sub forums as a step in the right direction.

Greetings, Moogle. Welcome to TYM, a land of learning, knowledge, darkly creatures, and lovable ponies.

I would recommend you listen to the advice of RYX and DaiHuu. Don't be afraid to ask questions!

I actually have a couple questions:
1.) Where can I learn about frame data? I stumbled across a thread awhile ago but I lost it.
2.) Where is a good place to start in terms of just getting a general feel for the game?

Oh, and how important is frame data exactly? It seemed like a relatively complex concept. I didn't feel like I needed to really learn about it right now.

I actually have a couple questions:

Here: http://testyourmight.com/threads/general-mk9-frame-data-info.15988/
It may be for MK9, but it also applies to Injustice.

I am not exactly sure; I don't have I:GAU. ; - ;
This is a question best-answered by an experienced person that plays it.

>How important is Frame Data?
Frame Data means everything to high-level players.
It allows people to know whether or not their move is safe if it's blocked, if a certain move grants a few blocked hits for chip damage, if a specific move is fast enough to punish a certain blocked attack from the opponent.

You should get the basics of Injustice down before learning in-depth about it. I can tell you that I:GAU runs at 60 frames per second, so a 10-frame starting attack at 60 frames per second is a pretty quick move!
