Reversal Attack?

Can't seem to find the answer to this anywhere, what additional properties does a move have if it's executed as a "reversal attack"? Why would I want to do a special move on the earliest possible frame after a successful block when I could use a much faster normal to punish? Is there even an advantage to "reversal attacks"? Why is this an option in training mode dummy settings but we can't set their reversal to a normal?

reversals are invincible wakeup attacks when you have been knocked over

Not in Injustice.

Reversals only occur when you do a special move out of block stun on the frame that you exit blockstun. Its basically a way to say "you did the move as quickly as possible after blocking". The move has no additional properties or anything like that. Just the notice that says you did it fast.

wow really? i think its a strange use of the term. my mistake. what do these reversals do? what about increased meter gain perhaps?

I played the tutorial last night and remembered thinking the reversals were weird... but they do give increased meter gain.. maybe a bar I can't remember?

Maybe it is increased meter. I haven't done that sort of practice yet but it makes sense that it would give more meter, especially since the move itself gains no extra properties.

Where art thou, MKX Skarlet?
The knowledge that you did a move as fast as you could is pretty valuable... but I'm curious to know if it gives you more.

Reversals give you a larger window to do a move frame perfect after block. Who knows what the window is (I would guess 5-10 frames?), but its larger than 1f, which is what you would have to just-frame punish with a normal.

Helps alot with punishing blocked projectiles that are actually punishable.

This is extremely useful information. Now, does anyone know the fastest special move (shortest startup) in the game by chance?

Superman's super (Kryptonian Crush) is 0f startup (1f impact, can punish -1 moves).

Other then that, many d1 and strings are 6f as well as Lex's Corp Charge and Flash's Flying Uppercut.

But do reversal's have any invincibility frames?

I ask this in light of the new Shazam discovery where you can reversal inbetween 2,2 HM.
From testing I found that Green Lanterns 15 frame rocket could reversal out.
But yet I cannot interrupt using Green Lantern's 7f standing 1.
I know the reversal window would help with timing, but i'm sure I would be able to interrupt at least once considering there is at least an 8f window.

Any ideas on why this occurs?

Could be ungrabbale frames.

This, example would be punishing Aquaman's trident with Deathstroke's StGS performing the inputs while in block-stun.
