This past week has been really fucked....
My heart goes out to the families and friends of both the Boston runners and people involved in the Virginia mall shooting.

This is horrifying. People die every day, why does this need to happen? I'm stuck between depression and rage right now.

Wow.

I'm an EMT-B student about 35 minutes from Boston. My teacher is one of the guys who sets up anti-terrorism planning around Massachusetts. Our class this past Thursday was on Anti-Terrorism. It just so happens my teacher was running the marathon and was near the finish line when it happened. Luckily, he's fine.

You have to expect it from people with a conspiracy theory mindset. Any kind of event like this is an automatic false flag in their heads. Then water filter salesmen like Alex Jones parrot inside job over and over again, saying that the gubmint's coming to snatch your guns and kill your family. Conspiracy theorists keep saying the end is near almost every week, yet nothing has happened and all of their claims are disingenuous or debunked.

Give me your money and I'll protect you from the devil government - Alex Jones

Good question.

All I know is: When they find the guy/guys who did it, those dudes better be dead within a month. I am a fair person but if you kill a kid, you die.

Things like this are terrible when they happen. I never understand the need to take another human beings life, for any purpose. I have friends in Boston, and thankfully they're okay, but those who are not, my heart goes out to them.

The only thing that always stresses me out about events like this, is that suddenly every one acts like this is an isolated incident. The events of today, were despicable by any stretch of the imagination, but unfortunately, for some parts of the world tragedies like these are the norm. Kids wake up and walk to school to the sound of bullets and explosions and nowhere is ever safe. And that's just the war torn areas. There are people without food who have to rely on other means to survive.

The world is a messed up place, there is no need for us as human beings to make it any worse. We should make it better if anything, or at least try to. Days like these remind us of that, it's just saddening that it takes a tragedy for the people to reflect.

This is always brought up. It's in the U.S., it hits close to home. We all know what goes on on a daily basis, but when it is nearer(or we know those involved) it becomes that much worse.
