Poll: Fear of Injustice Netcode Letdown

How worried are you that the Injustice netcode will be a letdown?

What I'm most concerned with is those stupid comp. Packs that ALOT of noobs for some reason refused to download. Resulting in de-syncs and connection errors/massive lag. If they make comp packs mandatory for online play,i really am confident in this games online component.

the mods on here are so classy.

Mods don't have to be "classy" to be mods. Mods are there to help enforce the rules, maintain order and help users with threads, information, whatever. They're seriously just normal users with a bit more power and, unless they're acting like a complete asshole, they can post without some type of filter.

Regardless, how can you seriously complain about not getting a game with bad online when you live in NY? That's one of the best places to live for offline fighting game scenes, go hop on a bus or ride a bike or call a cab or drive and go to some locals to get the real experience of the fighter instead of some watered down online version.

We don't all live with our parents buddy. I have no time to check out nyc's "fighting scene" at 28 years of age with a fulltime job.

Dude, just because I'm a mod doesn't mean I'm not one of the guys.

This is the same thing as everyone blowing up Hec for trolling lol.

Btw, every major run in the US (or basically anywhere) is run by someone that has a full-time job, a lot of them with kids to worry about, too. #NoExcusesSaaaaan

But you have time to spend hours on end online since, if it's a match or two, it hardly matters if online isn't the best. If it's acceptable you'll play a handful of matches and go about your day. If you're asking for really good netcode then you probably care about competitive play to some degree and will spend hours of free time (not in one session mind you) playing against opponents. At some point it's honestly just better to go to a local than just hope for "good netcode".

Not to mention, you do realize you live near guys like the CD brothers, REO, J360, KT Smith, etc?

I am living in a small town in germany, and i have no friends around who would play with me locally, so i will need a working netcode to play the game at all. I am more of a Street Fighter guy, and SF4's netcode worked for me. However, Mk9's did not. That game was a pretty horrible experience online for me so i had to drop it, which is in part, i think, due to the way nrs games work. Even basic combos require pretty crisp execution or the enemy will fall out of them. I was watching Arturos stream yesterday, and Dragongod wasn't able to do anything with Black Adam online due to lag except flailing around with dive kicks and low punches. I realize the game isn't released yet, but my concerns are there. And Art has an internet i can only dream of with my lowish dsl connection (the best available in my region, but still).

I can play Guile fine with a bit of lag. But can i play Nightwing? Time will tell, i guess. I just hope i don't waste another 60€ on a few hours of offline content because the online sucks so much for me :)

Good online is definitely a big help for some people with no active scenes. At the same time though it's possible to get better even with awful netcode. I've almost exclusively gotten better through MK online and the only competitive offline matches I've gotten are from tournaments and casuals at tournaments but I'm by no means a bad MK player.

In a chat NRS guys were saying how MK9 is a zero input lag game whereas most fighters have a window of built in input lag. This alone explains why you feel online delay more in MK than other fighters. So assuming Injustice has built in delay, I fully expect Injustice to be improved, BUT people will still bitch because its not perfect.

BTW MK9 online is NOT horrible. On 360 at least, just find someone you have a good connection with and if you're in lobbies never play someone under 3 dots. If there's hella lag then that means the other persons upload speed sucks, OR the distance is too great. Quit and find someone else. I think too many people use "online bro" as a scapegoat to cover there losses.

I love you.

.... they mostly come at night. Mostly.
I only believe in netcode being better than MK, once having the game and testing a lot under different conditions .... other than that, everything else is speculation ....

If it makes you feel any better, KOF13 has just as bad of netcode as MK9, and that game came out AFTER MK9.

See, you're wrong there, KoF13 had WORSE online than MK and I'd venture to say the WORST NETCODE OF ANY MODERN FIGHTER! It was just atrocious man, ridiculous nonsense.

If SSBB counts as a modern fighter then I would say that THAT has the worst netcode.

The Wiis online was never strong coupled with the fact that nearly all matches were played through Wifi (dunno if there was an ethernet adapter) I dunno if that can be counted.

Ha, this could be my post. I'm also a dude from Germany who lives in a small town. I also have no people in the area who could play the game locally with me (sad fact is also that all of my friends are not into Fighting Games, they mostly play Shooters and RTS games).

So it is very important for me as well, that the netcode is good. And people just have to realise, that there are a lot of guys like us, who don't have the opportunity to play offline against humans. I wish I had a local scene here like the people who live in New York or something.

I don't expect a godlike netcode like the one from Tekken Tag Tournament 2 or Soul Calibur 5 (my two favorite 3D fighters), but a very good netcode like SSF4 AE (my favorite 2D fighter) would be cool. MK 9 wasn't unplayable for me (I guess it's because I have a pretty good connection), but it could have been a lot better of course. Only 5 or 6 out of 10 games were playable for me. On the other hand, in SSF4 were 8 or 9 out of 10 games playable. Btw I play on PSN.

That's the reason why I didn't pre order Injustice yet. I will wait til the game is out and read the reviews and especially what the players say about online. If it's bad, then I will continue to play Street Fighter I guess. But I really hope Injustice will be decent online.

Batman and Superman get lots of support here, since they're quite well known. But to be honest, Japan seems to be more fond of Marvel comic superheroes.

If I mention any word of like Green Lantern or something, they have no clue.
