Even the Justice League cartoon. They had him get taken out, but they did the same with freaking Superman. i blame the writers...everytime he fought he always got punch in the face first.Superman got hit some, but he would always hit back. Also the way Megan is written in YJ just tells me I would take Megan over MMH, since they do the same thing...but her hand to hand skills are still low tier. So MMH wins out in just that field. But yeah it sucks because John(the black GL), Flash, and Him were my favs when not considering batman.

actually J'onn was trained in Mars for combat - and i love Miss Martian but really noone can replace my Oreo loving, big powerful calm smart friend J'onn - he is above anyone for me in the whole DC universe - i mean he has the strenghts even stronger than Supes and he is as smart as Batman
And talking about Cartoon i remember this one episode in JL where Gorilla Grodd sets everyone up and captures them but J'onn pretends to be Clayface and than frees everyone - thus saves the whole justice league - so yeah - he is indeed very smart and also a great detective

Perhaps they're saving his awesome NRS original costume redesign for his official reveal, and they're just showing us his New 52 alt in the Watchtower so we'll be surprised later. Making his original costume the New 52 costume would make them lose out on possible sales if it were a purchasable skin instead, wouldn't it? I don't know.

Eh that's not true... And I've been rewatching the whole series on Netflix, so trust me I know lol. He was pretty damn tough and powerful, even in that show. He didn't have any less of a showing than Superman himself did at times. Eh that's not true... And I've been rewatching the whole series on Netflix, so trust me I know lol. He was pretty damn tough and powerful, even in that show. He didn't have any less of a showing than Superman himself did at times. And with Megan, it's not a matter of hand to hand skill, it's the fact that she doesn't have super strength on his level, AND she has telekinesis when J'onn does not. J'onn and Megan both share telepathy though, as well as all the other powers. MMH was my favorite besides Batman as well, if you can't tell haha.

i might have to rewatch it myself. i remember him being a meat shield. but i agree with everything else you said.

I remember he's the guy who figures out the truth behind the Ray and the Justice Guild in season 1. In general, I think they play up his telepathy and intelligence more than his muscle, and leave the hitting of stuff in the face to Superman and Hawkgirl.

I'm pretty sure J'onn can claim credit for having put in more work on that show than even Batman, lol. Honestly his power set is so much fun to write it's not surprising to me.

I think that MasterHavik is just saying that he was portrayed as a weak fighter overall, not that his telepathy or intelligence weren't important and extremely helpful. So yeah, the show didn't always portray exactly how physically powerful he was, but they did sometimes. There was one point where he was beating up a magical suit of armor in JLU that even Wonder Woman had a very hard time against. And he was just owning it, the only reason the bad guys got away was by taking a hostage.

And yes, his powers are so diverse and different that he should be absolutely awesome to play as. Excited for them to announce him on Monday. ^_^
