MB mechanics changing how armour can be used vs zoning

Zyphox

What is going on guys, Ya Boi Zyphox here.
Before. They're also advantage on block, in the demo at least.
they will be in the final game as well, confirmed by paulo :) although the leaked version, the flash's wall bounce is negative on block, gonna have to talk to paulo about that, my main will not be the only one in injustice with a move that looks like tatsu and neg on block :)

I like the MB system...it allows you to be smarter with your meter...less chances to waste it because you basically hit confirm your special into MB.

Yes, I also like the fact that the Meter Burn mechanic works as a hit confirm-only. It's pretty much an option-select.

Also, I forgot the fact that you could give your B3 and F3 a hit of armor using Meter Burn. This gave me an idea, so I hopped on the demo for the sixtieth time and tested out something. You can actually just FADC (Focus Attack Dash Cancel) through projectiles using Meter Burn B3 / F3 instantly this way just like in Street Fighter IV. Depending on the situation, spacing and projectile / character, this can actually help punish certain things, and not just against projectiles alone. This definitely wouldn't be a waste if you could punish and land a huge combo using only one bar of meter to do this. I'll put up a video demonstrating it's usefulness next time I get a chance.

Edit: Just finished making the video. Here are some demonstrations of this "Ground Bounce Dash Cancel" technique I've just come up with. Could be useful for the entire cast in general.

Some MB's can be hitconfirmed like Batman's grapple, others can be MB'ed at any point except when getting hit(like Batman's Battarangs).
Armor in general will only be through F3/B3 + MB and will be extremely useful when it is used wisely. Because it's a 1 hit armor and can't be used against certain projectiles like Batman's Battarangs(2 hits), also F3/B3 + MB can be read and countered with their own F3/B3 +MB like the CPU has done to me so many times(NJ is also an option if read correctly).

That's because I think armor isn't the answer to zoning in this game anyways.
This exactly. People need to remember that this is not MK9.

"I can't dash block -- I can't EX through zoning" well, maybe this is because there are other elements of the metagame designated for making your way in. Armor in MK9 was more of a "band-aid" anyways; I think the usage in Injustice feels much smarter and more natural.

You're probably right. I mean Batman's got the Double Jump, Wonder Woman has her Bracelets of Submission parry, and Lex Luthor has his instant Air Corp Charge and Energy Shield. All these Special Moves could help get through zoning if used correctly. Definitely not a Get Out of Jail Free card though. Still, the whole B3 / F3 + MB Dash Cancel idea could still be useful in certain situations. It's good to know that it's possible in case you need to use it.

I saw one of many videos from this Injustice Demo tournament where a guy won his match from just zoning out with Batman against a Wonder Woman player. It was so stupid I don't even want to post the video, lol. Keeping away with Batarang, Up Batarang and Mechanical Bats all day. His opponent could not get in whatsoever. It was brutal. Can't blame him though; the strategy was very effective. Injustice doesn't seem to give everyone an easy way in through projectiles.
