Explaining Blackest Night

I disagree, Blackest Night was a fuster-cluck of epic proportions, which spanned into every title for no goddamn reason. Basically if you're not a massive Lantern fan it sucked because Lanterns ended up in your books for no damn reason.

...Now Sinestro Corps war, that is a good Lantern crossover book.

Some books it worked amazingly with like in Question and Booster Gold. Some serious emotional shit going on in those with Beetle and the original Q coming back to interact with the legacies they left behind. In others, like Teen Titans, it was just simply awful.

I admit, it worked well in Secret Six/Suicide Squad one-shot because so many people have died in those series. But it was annoying that a bunch of storylines were interrupted/derailed entirely for the sake of Blackest Night crossovers.

I still blame Blackest Night for leading us into a reboot...

That'd be Flashpoint. The reason DC even had a reboot was because the EIC told Didio to think of something or get fired. So what started as an elseworlds story ended up being a reboot like Crisis on Infinite Earths. I'm still expecting a mini-reboot to show up like how Zero-Hour was to fix some continuity errors and shit.

Oh I know it was Flashpoint that is the technical cause of the reboot, but I blamed Blackest Night because for new readers it was horrendous, especially Brightest Day (yeuch). At the time a friend of mine was trying to pick up DC and found it too difficult as everyone who dead or resurrected and then died again or became a white Lantern or some other kind of Lantern.

I thought that Flashpoint was a way of wiping the slate clean, they kept the stuff casuals seemed to like, like Damian Wayne, and scrapped other stuff.
