Swampy for DLC?

A plant elemental created by The Green and the consciousness and memories of Dr. Alec Holland, the Swamp Thing is a powerful and intelligent creature born in the swamps of Louisiana when Alec Holland, set aflame and drenched in his own bio-restorative formula, fell into the swamp waters. Swamp Thing initially believed himself to be Holland, but that was not the case. Swamp Thing is THE plant elemental for the Earth and is in contact with all plant-life on Earth. He also has superhuman strength tied to his connection to the Earth and essentially lives on energy from the Sun(sounds like another superhero we all know). Swamp Thing has control over all plant life and can use it to ensnare or traps enemies and has even threatened to cause microscopic flora in his enemies to grow and kill them from the inside. Swamp Thing has no qualms against killing if need-be. Swamp Thing is immortal and can transfer his consciousness to a new body if the one he's inhabiting is destroyed. To give an example of how badass Swamp Thing is, when his wife Abby was held by Gotham City's courts, being charged with crimes against nature(because of her relationship with Swamp Thing), he showed up and demanded her release. When they wouldn't, Swamp Thing overgrew the City and told them that it would remain that way until she was released. The Batman showed up to convince him to withdraw, and when he wouldn't, they fought. Swamp Thing seriously outmatched the Batman, who then convinced Gotham's mayor that it would be in everyone's best interest to release Abby.

So. Immortal, super-strong, complete control over plants, and has beaten the crap out of the "I can beat anyone" Batman. What's not to like? :D

Voted no, only because Grundy fits Swamp Thing's playstyle well, an if there is going to be some plant attacks added, I'd much rather have them added to a Poison Ivy kit.

swamp thing has insane potential outside chain grapples.

Yea, not the point. A lumbering zombie like powerhouse with grapple attacks is what Swamp Thing is. The fact that you could make his kit different doesn't mean it would fill a new role.

With a few very minor tweaks, Swamp Thing could be adequately and accurately represented as a alt skin of Grundy. Make zombie hands into roots, and the blades in his back twigs and branches.

so you prefer a batman villain for a character loved by a lot but that could still use some mainstream appeal?
It's more accurate to say I'd prefer another female character added who has mainstream appeal (iconic actually), opposed to a character who is really more befitting to become an alt skin.

To put it another way, I'd rather have Cyborg Superman or Hawkman as alts for existing characters than have them take up a DLC character slot.

In the end, it's just one mans opinion.

Well, that's your opinion, frankly I think Swamp Thing could work out differently than Grundy, and he would definitely need a new super since Swampy doesn't have a tombstone.

What about you other people who voted no? What's your excuse? Seriously, how can you not like this guy?

Agreed, just an opinion. Other things of interest...

I wouldn't make ST a grappler as much as I would a brawler. Grundy is a slow lumbering, zombie where ST is not only fast and agile but can pretty much take pretty much any form he wants. I've been trying to think of how he would play, but it's tough. Possibly like Dhalism given that he can stretch his body. He would definitely have to have a teleport. His super could involve teleporting you through the Green to get attacked by the Parliament Of Trees or maybe into the Rot where Anton Arcane could have his way with you. Someone mentioned in an earlier thread, dropping seeds. I think having the ability to have 1 seed out at a time anywhere on the screen that you could teleport to as a free getaway. Maybe for his trait, have him transform into his winged form giving him flight and and another buff, maybe some type of regeneration.

double post

edit: crap, deleted what I wrote by mistake.
found it, slow walking speed, long range leaf sword normals and kinda like a command grab where he extends his arm and grabs you. his trait could be planting a seed (you choose where with the d pad) that when pressed again it would teleport swamp thing to the seed or with an input a plant would grow and allow for a combo

Isn't dlc supposed to sell well as much as I like swamp thing if the had to put a someone with plant powers I'm pretty sure they would go with poison Ivy.
