What the hell is the point in putting effort in, if you cant be satisfied by it yourself? That'd just make you a drone. You'd be doing a task, learning a function, for what?

I speak from personal experience, but I'm sure any other competitor on this site (and I mean competitior, somebody who's won, or has the potential/drive to win) will think the same.

I need to have pride in my ability:

1. So that if I go unbeaten I know its valid
2. If I get beaten and my pride can be broken, I know that I should work on improving.

Everyone is entitled to their opinion but I think the fact that he's discrediting MK players(american players) doing well and more or less knocking the MKC is what rubs people the wrong way...

wow...you know when i hear something about AE it's about the top players and all their reads and USA vs. Japan. Do a lot of players in the states fly under the radar in AE?

Alot of players in most games fly under the radar. From either lacking a way to making it to a major or just not interested enough to travel that far.

i accept what you say. but i dont call you an idiot. but it is just 1 side of the coin.

pride is the emotional attatchment to our ability. we can have the ability without the attatchment. for myself and for many players, when i started on FGs my emotions and my pride were prohibiting my ability. this is true for many players. the FG journey for me has been a personal one to control my pride and emotions. this elevated my skill like no other.

when one has pride, they have pride to lose. when one has nothing, they have nothing to lose.

i know it rubs people the wrong way. in fact i typed that in the post you quoted. FChamp says words, those words somehow magically have an aggressive reaction of resistance on the listeners. why? that is control. dont be controlled. Fchamp is no wizard. if what he says is false, we will win, he will appear the fool. if he is right, we talked trash for no damn reason and appear the fool when we could have just played without buying into Filipino Champs game. the art of war states; encourage the arrogance of your enemy

Justin 'did' play MK. When Justin and Floe cared about the competition they got 1st and 2nd at PDP.

All of these guys are talented, just like our best guys and it will make tournaments/rivalries more exciting when we all come together.

Imagine how hype a Philipino Champ and CD Jr. rivalry would be.

Also, this is a new game. It is accessible to everyone.

While our community is 'learning' how to play, so will all of the other communities. The most motivated and strongest players will rise to the top regardless of which community they came from.

A lot of these guys know how to break down new games and play to the strengths of the meta-game that will evolve. They have been doing it for years.

This gets me real wriled up! You scrubs actually think you can hang with a community of players that have been breaking down games for 10 years? What happened when mortal kombat 9 first dropped? We saw the testers do good out of the gate, Justin bodies all of your heroes at PDP for 10K, and then loses interest in the game.

Here is whats going to happen. The testers will start out doing well with their artificial advantage. Except this time testers are apparently being pulled from multiple communites (would it surprise you if EG is helping test the game?!?!?!). Interest dwindles and the true fans of the game end up levelling the playing field.

No doubt in my mind EG will body you scrubs out of the gate. And if their interest stays, they will continue to hold you down while ricky goes in dry.

Killzone, sorry man, but i gotta agree with Juggs here. You cant just come out of the blue, and imply that an entire community is trash, simply because you ( part of the Capcom community), havent played MK9. If you think the game is so easy and wont take much of your time, then why didnt you at least try the game and enter one tournament ? Reason why: Cause you would get bodied, thats why. I know F.champ is doing this for the hype and all and i really respect that cause he wants to bring two different FG communities closer, but still, it wasnt the right way to do so. If he gets bodied from a top U.S MK player he will be put on blast BIG TIME and not for the wrong reason. As for if MK in general is easier or harder than the Capcom FG's, i believe we already have that answer. If it was then every Capcom player would have competed for, at least one tourney, and do well. Saying the game was "crap" and not even give it a chance to mature says a lot about these players. Also UMVC3 is A LOT more unbalanced than MK9. At least in MK, you dont die once you get touched (well, except maybe Cyrax ). My point is, lets just wait and see, thats all.

EDIT: In terms of technical game play, though, SFIV is harder than MK9 lets be honest here.

Wait a second, isn't it universally agreed that KOF13, Tekken Tag 2 and VF5FS are the hardest fighting games this generation when it comes to trying to get on the level of high level players? When did SF4 all of a sudden get into that category, a SF game that everyone agrees does not have a high barrier of skill to compete in?

and speaking of which, I know a lot of people have said that MK9 is all about matchup numbers. I do't know if you guys have been following, but even Infiltration is known to counter-pick when he has to. so it is not only MK9 that has players counter-picking against their character's bad matchups.

Oh and btw, I'm just going to go about my business and play the game. I'm not going to be caring if someone like F.Champ talks shit nonestop and then goes out there and either wins or looses. If he and other top guys like Jwong decide to drop the game, I'll keep going to VSM to play the hell out of it. What these pro players think about the MK community doesn't really matter in the end because we all just go back to playing what we like over the competition available.

Cibernetico, TTT2 is not hard when it comes to technical game play. Everything about this game is, pretty much, spacing. Plus the game has some serious random bugs going on. It still needs patching, thats for sure. I agree with KOF13 and VF5 though. SSFIV is getting a bit ridiculous, especially the 2012 version.
