1. Batman has been tremendously popular and successful, well before The Dark Knight trilogy. Due to having great comics, a great rogues gallary, the 60's television show, the Burton films, the super popular animated series, and his games. TDK trilogy only added to the popularity, but it didn't create it nor does it define it, just supports it.

2. Batman characetrs have mainstream audience appeal. Walk down the street, and ask 10 people to name as many Batman characters as they can. They'll be able to name at least 5 guaranteed. Now ask them to name at least 5 Aquaman, Flash, Wonder Woman, or Martian Manhutner, Green Arrow, or Green Lantern characters. That's the point. Batman characters have huge fanbases. Do you see any Aquaman, Flash, Wonder Woman etc. villains or characters beyond themself, getting ANY merchandise outside of a comicbook store? No. Yet I have seen Batman characters get merchandise at wal-mart, target, toys R us etc.

3. Batman fucking sells. How hard is that to understand? Put your bias aside and look at it from a business standpoint. Do you want this game to do well? Do you want it to appeal to the most people possible, gain new fans, and make as much money as possible? If you do, then what better way than to offer characters that appeal to the casual audience? The ones who may have only seen the Batman movies or cartoons, but don't know the other characters or care for them beyond the main Justice League heroes. Once you get their interest, then they can become fans of the rest. Stop making this a dick measuring contest saying Batman can't have more than a couple of characters. They are ALL a part of the DCUniverse. Accept it.

4.People knew who Bane was, before TDKR. Comic book fans knew who he was, and casuals likely saw him in the movie Batman and Robin. As bad as the movie might have been, it still sold plenty of tickets. Bane has also been featured in Batman cartoons, Batman games, Batman documentaries, and the animated film Justice League: Doom.

I also find it extremely hypocritical of you to even hate on Batman so much. I have seen your DLC wishlist, you know, the 18 characters you hope to get, and it included John Stewart, Atrocitus. and Black Hand. That would make SEVEN Green Lantern characters(including Grundy), with 4 of them being Lanterns. Do we really need 4 Lanterns? No. But you sure as hell let your love for Green Lantern dictate so. But 6 Batman characters? Oh man, that's outrageous! How dare the most popular, iconic, and recognizable franchise DC owns get 6 characters!
Well i don't know about others but i didn't really need Sinestro or Shazam - i'd rather only have GL and Black Adam - also Batman is very popular because DC makes him popular - really they concentrate on him so much - it's only fair for him to be the most popular one along with superman. I can't even count the number of SOLOS batman has in the New 52, does he need all of those - my opinion is NO...
Bane wasn't really that famous before TDKR
and just because Batman Fucking Sells doesn't mean they need to make the whole DC universe around him -

cyborg made a claim he is just strictly a gl villain in wich he isnt

name me one gl book in the last 10 years that had grundy as the main villain
You made it seem like Grundy was not a GL villain at all, which is just not true. He's not strictly a GL villain but his feud with the original GL should definitely transfer to Hal. Plus, Grundy's a toss up and can be counted for several heroes.

BlackCyborg

I am Arkham
actually grundy isnt from gl . hes from all american comics
http://en.wikipedia.org/wiki/Solomon_Grundy_(comics)
"Solomon Grundy is a fictional character, a zombie supervillain in the DC Comics Universe. Named after the 19th century nursery rhyme, Grundy was introduced as an enemy of the Golden Age Green Lantern (Alan Scott), "

Nope, he was created to be a villain for Green Lantern Alan Scott. He debuted in All American comics, but that's irrelevant. Wolverine debuted in The Incredible Hulk. Is he regarded as a Hulk character, or an X-men? Exactly.

Ok, just for your sake, we put Grundy aside. That makes 6 GL characters you want in the game. Yet you constantly cry about the 6 Batman characters in the game. You're a hypocrite. Get over it.

exactly. compared to other charachters dc has who are the 2 people that have the most books? superman and batman

lets face it its not about how they are reconizable its dc saying hey these are the only 2 we can depend on.

you look at geoff johns who did fantastic things with his run on green lantern but the movie ruined that sadly

so what does dc do instead of taking another gamble ( arrow) they do the same over and over again.

and this is why marvel is killining them in the movies area. for example i know jack shit on guardians of the galaxy and now im interested reading up on them do to a live movie coming out

dc dosent do that to where i want to take the time drop some money on a book and understand there charachter.

If you wanna get technical, New 52 did put him back as a GL villain in Earth 2.
the whole earth 2 storyline i dont care about. i really dont

same with the big events dc pushes down our throats

thats why i though bn was kind of weak since it shouldve been more of a gl story instead of a whole dcu story involving everyone

same with brightest day and thats why i dropped it arround issue 8 i think

Personally, I feel like Blackest Night was great in the fact it combined the Lantern world with the mainstream DCU. Before that, they were incredibly detached and then, to give certain Earth people Lantern rings was awesome.

Look at Marvel's movie diversity in the past few years - Daredevil, Electra, Blade, Spiderman, X-men, Wolverine, Iron Man, Captain America, Avengers, Hulk, Fantastic 4 now they are gonna do FREAKING ANT MAN and Guardians of the Galaxy - now that is VARIETY
DC is constant Batman, Superman, Batman, Superman and sometimes a movie like Watchmen or some other hero like Aquaman (played by Justin Hartley), Catwoman (her name is Patience in the movie (bahahahaha)) , Green Lantern MESS.. but it is rare - they havn't even done a JUSTICE LEAGUE movie... it is sad really

Yeah actually I like Batman too - i really do - just the overratedness is really becoming annoying for people who read comics and appreciate other characters too.

i still laugh at this

makes me really question who is more will powered between the 2

Okay, I'd like to point out something about Halle Berry's Catwoman: She is not Selina Kyle. Her name is Patience Phillips for a reason. She is supposed to be separate from Selina Kyle, in so many ways. Its honestly not a bad movie when you realize that they aren't the same person at all and they aren't supposed to be, either.

4. So i'm supposed to not support Batman, or see his movies, just because they can't get their act together and find a way to make their other heroes work on the big screen? That's not helping anything.
Well noone told you to not support Batman - but u kind of were protecting their Spotlight Only on Batman policy just some posts ago ;) noone is JUDGING Batman - we are judging DC for concentrating SO much on him.
