I have'nt made up my mind if I am going yet. I need the practice though since UFGT7 is the following weekend. Kung Lao is my main though and he needs a ton of practice.

Yeah AC I went to one there on the 7th of May and did'nt do too bad. It was fun and their custom kabs are nice! This past Saturday I went to another tourney in Evergreen Park. Im trying to get as much offline practice as I can. The only problem with this Saturday is its my birthday. I have to see what are my plans before I can say if im going or not.

But yo I'll try and make it there. No guarantees since I have to take public transportation, but I'll try my best to make it. If I do make it people can beat up my scrubby stryker and shang tsung.

That's awesome, do you happen to have any info on the event itself? (system, controllers, etc...) I should be free this weekend, but of course I'm out of town again during UFG :facepalm:

Cool stuff guys, I'll be waiting for results and videos. Btw, MOE what type of monitors they have in the cabs? So far I played on Samsung LCD(min which has a little lag), an old school tube TV and one of these small $200 Asus gaming monitors and to my surprise the game runs differently on every TV.

According to Pat from TRMK they have Asus VE278Q which has a 2ms response time. I play on an Asus VH236H that also has 2ms response time. I have noticed differences on lag between different types of LCDs. A couple of times I had issues with doing combos and I have to adjust to the lag and just do the inputs faster. There are a couple of vids of me playing mk9 on youtube but I am horrible at the game. :invisible:

The tournament will be on Saturday for MK9. It will be on our custom Mortal Kombat arcades.

They are running off PS3 hardware. We don't allow controllers.

Sign ups will start around 7:30PM...we will be doing a Marvel vs Capcom 3 tournament first then the MK tournaments!

There will be prizes and the tournaments count towards our ranked fighting system.

Can't make it to the tournament, but here's my pitch: New member here, my name is Joseph. I'm also pretty new to this game(Just rented it a few days and tried out various characters, combos, read through threads on the site) but really enjoy it. Would be up to offline any day but thursday since I have another game I play with some Chicago friends. I live in Westmont but have no problem traveling a bit(I go 30/45 minutes for my other group). Main Ermac, Reptile and trying to pick up Cyrax once I can play again.
