The time is coming and as we've mentioned not long ago about Kombat Network opening a 'training facility' in Marlboro, New Jersey... well, the time is nearing! On March 15th, to celebrate the opening of the Kombat Network/Ultra Spec Cables training facility, they will be holding a small gathering on the 15th, so in less than 10 days from now! From the 15th, the training facility or 'The Marlboro Slaughterhouse' which it is being called, will be open to a subjective schedule which will be discussed further as time goes on.

As of now, there is no fee to get in because it will be *donation-based* so if you'd like to give $1 or $5 or $20 or more... it will obviously be very appreciated and grateful. These donations will go back in to the training facility via new equipment, etc.

On March 15th, the gathering will be Mortal Kombat focused with a 100" projector screen setup along with a stream. In addition, there will be a Ultimate Mortal Kombat 3 cabinet (Xbox ready cab) as well as plenty of setups for everyone to play on.

Some addition notes:
The area is about 450 square feet, and we will set up tables with PS3s, 360s, Asus monitors, maybe a couple PCs. We'll start with about 6 console setups and see how things go, get whatever games we can. There will be a dedicated stream station, and a 100" projector screen in the room. We also may put a few arcade machines in it as well, with an MK cabinet already landed at the warehouse, likely Alpha 3, 3rd Strike, maybe KI. My goal is to fit every cabinet with a SuperGun for PS2 support. Extra details here.

Another cherry on top is the fact that in time if anyone wants to run an event with KN/Ultra Spec's space in the future... that is also an option and that is 650 sq feet worth of space.

So, what are you waiting for? Here is the address: Be there on March 15th!
"The Marlboro Slaughterhouse"
2 Timber Lane
Marlboro, NJ Door 101

*bringing your own setups is also welcome*

Thanks for posting this up STORMS, to clarify the conflicting info, the space is about 600+ sq ft, and we have a UMK3 cab, and an XBOX 360 cab courtesy of Kazi. This is literally a cabinet with a 360 in it to run any game, on a flat screen. When I get a chance I'll add more specific info.

Makes me feel like I still lived in Marlboro. I still have family there though, so I could very likely drop by one day.

Pig, let me explain. Marlboro, NJ is my hometown. Across the street from Marlboro High School on Rt.79 and behind a neighborhood, there is a blocked off road that keeps going on for quite some time. If I recall correctly, there are three abandoned houses about a quarter-mile down. My friends and I wreaked havoc in one of the basements about 10 years ago and it was AWESOME. About another quarter-mile down that road, there's a building that used to be a slaughterhouse (also abandoned). There are a number of pigpens and a giant scary meat locker. I used to hang out there with a bunch of high school friends years and years ago up on the roof. My friend Randy sliced his hand open pretty bad on some aluminum siding while climbing up to the roof a long time ago and it was gnarly-looking. He's fine now, this was AGES ago. So... because of that place, I'm assuming that's why they named this training facility the "Marlboro Slaughterhouse."

Last I heard, a couple of high school kids burned down the place by accident while smoking weed, but this is just hearsay. I haven't been to this place in person in at least a decade.

I went there in I think 2006 or 2007 a couple weeks after my friend's brother did. In that time, the place was completely demolished. Here's a pic I took of my friend Steve Legion on here, standing atop the rubble:

Looks like an intentional demolition

But yes, that is why it's called the Slaughterhouse. I was originally considering calling it "The Asylum" as a nod to the Mental Hospital that closed down a number of years ago, but I like the Slaughterhouse. It's also generically called "The Kombat Network Arena" - even if it's just an office space.

Btw, does this venue have a Facebook page?
It's sort of just part of the KombatNetwork thing, we'll get it a page when it's 100% definitely going to be a regularly occurring thing. I have like zero time to work on anything right now.

Don't forget guys, this Friday, after 6:30PM we'll be holding a soft opening at the warehouse just to feel things out. All are welcome, and about 15 to 20 are planning to make it as of right now. We should be setting things up later today.
