My buddy is having surgery this weekend so I am baby sitting But I am planning on hitting up Next Level next Friday and or Sat (6/17).

I think its retarded the tourney was run on 360 when everything nowadays in run on a PS3 (most likely because that pad is god awful.)

Generally, ports are better on Xbox 360, some TO's like 360 more, and no one judges the systems by the controllers, and that goes both ways. Its the players responsibility to get a pad or stick they can use, converters or not.

they have more setups at NL for xbox than PS3 iirc but that'll be fixed later on Dreamkiller. Not much we can do about that at the moment barring them getting more PS3 setups. XBox is generally better for almost every major tourney fighter not named Tekken/MK9 anyway.

NY scene is on blast when I have to travel to get most of my competition. Shoutouts to the dedicated players in NY though, like Riu48 and a few others, i respect their dedication and drive to get to offline events. Even Dreamkiller is trying to do what he can to get better given his situation and thats something i can respect.

MKF: umm yeah if you have real life stuff to handle, then handle that obviously. Noone is disputing that. Just I don't understand how you can ask all these qusetions (about where the venue is, what neighborhood etc etc) when i posted the link on this forum and all it takes is for google maps to find out easy directions by train/car/etc. come on dude, it's p. clear that youre not gonna come out anytime soon. I know players that have worse situations than you and they still make it out. bottom line is if dont bother about askign about offline events if youre never gonna show up, lol (the information is all here for u easy in this forum. hell I even posted in this thread where the places to play are.)

Dreamkiller I actually talked to Min (who ran the event) and he didn't know about XBox not saving hotfixes. None of TS plays MK9 seriously so you shouldn't expect them to know that. I already made them aware of it for next time, but if that kinda situation ever comes up again then just remind them b4 tourney starts about it. Sorry u had a rough experience despite me talking up TNL I still think its a good place.

Yeah, today was the first day Next Level officially opened for all week business. They dont nessesarily have "mk9 all week" but there are always unused setups that on request Ben, Henry or whoever is running the floor can load up mk.

I just reached out to phire he mentioned someone else reaching out to him to get the scene for MK started. I dont know if that was you he said he is going to get back to me and should be able to accommodate. So hopefully all goes well. I'll keep you posted!

I sent Phire an email inquiring about casuals this week, and it appears they are only being hosted on PS3 as well as the tourney on Saturday night. I dont have a PS3 compatible stick (yet) so I will have to either spectate or come thru in a few weeks , since my stick wont be ready for PS3 play till after the 25th.

However if anyone is planning on going to 8Bit this weekend and has a stick they could lend me, I will happily buy you San Loco or any meal of your choice ;-)

The thing with 8-bit is that for casuals if you really want, you can bring your console if your up to it. There are a handful of "HOUSE" xboxes but they are used up for mvc3/AE. What's left is 1 or 2 fat ps3's. For the tournament i guess some people might be "donating" more consoles.

Lucky for me I am dual modded.

But again, for casuals bringing an xbox console if your comfortable is cool. As a matter someone brought theirs last week so we could play ssf4+aedlc.

Its a pain in the arse but I am totally totally willing to bring my own console if it means getting a chance to play some people offline.

Think I could get away with just bringing the console itself without all the cableage? Ill gladly bring cables but if i can avoid digging behind my TV to disconnect everything that would be my preference.
