Completely new to MK

Hi guys,
I've recently become very interested in playing MK after the gaming society at my uni had a tourney in it. I really enjoy the gameplay and I'm pretty hyped about injustice as well. However, I don't know how to improve my gameplay, when (if any) livestreams happen for the game other than Evo. I found this website pretty quick though =]. My favourite characters are Kabal, Kung Lao and Johnny Cage if that helps anyone help me D:

I'm UK/EU and I play on XBL (my tag is the same as my forum name). That would be really awesome to do, although I can't do this week since I have a full week of charity events coming up (may kill me, but oh well). Thanks for the replies ^_^
