The good thing is fighting games still take more skill than the other genres, for the most part at least. It's the reason I generally only play fighters these days, or just play RPG's.

I think the RPG genre is one of the ones that has suffered the most recently, there just has not been that many worthwhile ones being released lately. Many of them seem to want more action oriented combat at the expense of strategy or depth. I can't think of very many that had compelling plots recently either.
