What do you guys think of this games overall presentation? Such as character attire, backgrounds, character select screen, menus and so on. Personally, I wanted to see a select screen more like Deception's and a different announcer. Dripping blood on the models would have been a nice touch too. I hope at least in the next MK we see a lot more new content, to kind of change things up a bit.
 
Character attire is alright, backgrounds are really good, character select screen could've been better, menus are okay. Music is horrendous, except for the first few seconds of the main menu track along with the entirety of the Nekropolis track and Courtyard (day) track. I would've enjoyed having a Klassic Music setting in the options menu that makes every music track go back to MK3/MKII/MK1's time.

This game has to have the best backgrounds out of any 2d fighting game I have played. There is a decent amount of them, they have good atmosphere and detail and look far better than most other games. I thought that was one of the worst aspects of Street Fighter 4, there were only 3 or 4 I liked. I don't think little children would just stand there cheering if they saw blanka and bison beating the crap out of each other. KoF 13 had some pretty strange ones also, like the one with the headbanging fat women.

When it comes to the menus, theyre awful.

If you are talking about content within the game like characters and stages? Fucking class A (except reptile lol)

I just hope mk10 has more of the classic mk3 feel (wasnt that the char select music beautiful?)

Everything is good except for the females presentation wise. My problem with the females are that most of the designs are pretty weak and a little to samey to me personally. And God Sonya's character portrait.

next mk give us all music possible all costumes possible. i like it tho. overall it real good to me. I wish they would give us the old mk select screen like mk trilogy. I hope they do the main menu song with the mk movie song. I like that song. less none mk characters and more mk. more stages. better options for training. let people play the computer 1on1 not just on ladder. everybody have one usable armor move. anyways mk9 is good. I freakin love it bro lol

Presentation-wise, this game is PERFECT!! It has the best story mode than any other FG has well...actually MK Deception's Konquest mode was the best but that's besides the point.

But once you get into the game and find all of its flaws, then it's like having a REALLY REALLY dumb but REALLY REALLY hot girlfriend.

Also: The one big presentation miss definitely has to be the soundtrack, or lack thereof.
Yeah it is awful, I thought that is what you meant because really who could like that travesty. I would also agree the music is not that great, but that has never really bothered me in FGs, I often listen to a CD when playing if I want music anyway.

*nod* I agree. It could've been better, but at the same time, I'm usually too tuned in to the fight to really notice.
Shit, I can't even play with the music on. I've gotta be able to hear the game. Sound cues = $$$.

Seeing Scorpion punch Sub Zero's face every time I'm taken to the main menu is horrendously annoying.
I would like to see Sub Zero catch Scorpion's fist, and break or cut off Scorpion's arm.
Have every character appear randomly in the main menu, with a 50-50 percent chance of one move prioritizing over the other.
To better explain: There's always a closer character, and a farther character, as if it were a pokemon battle. The closer character has a set attack animation, and the farther character has a set attack animation. 50-50 percent split in which character is shown succeeding. Thus would be much better than Scorpion and Sub Zero all the FUCKING TIME.

To move on to things that actually make sense: The game should ask you who your favroite character is, and change the look of the main menu based upon which character is listed as your favorite. For example, if the user's favorite character is Sub-Zero, the menu would turn light blue, possibly with a picture of Sub-Zero launching an Iceball, or Raiden's menu being covered with Lightning, or Scorpion's covered with fire, or Johnny Cage's covered with money. (All of which have a nice picture of the character as well.) Also, being able to mix up character's or alliances for your main menu would be amazing. This concept is seen in Playstation All Stars.

This "favorite character" concept could also be utilized in online matchmaking. Next to an online player's username, there could be an icon that displays the user's most played or favorite character, allowing the players to avoid fighting Noob Saibot or Kabal online, or search for the matchup that they need help in.
Also useful would be the ability to enter combat codes from the character select screen, and mix together as many kombat codes as the players wish.
No blood, plus no foreground elements = far less lag. Very useful online.

The characters should have different loading screen pictures and character select screen pictures based upon which costume the player chooses to wear.
A team system would be very useful as well, for reasons that are shown in my "Injustice: Gods Among Us Wishlist" video on AmazingGamingChannel. You'll find more stuff there.

Remove the ability to spam chat room lobbies through the use of pre-set text-based messages.

Yeah, for most of the FGs I play I end up turning the Background music down in the options menu, I don't often have a CD playing either but when I want music that is what I go for.

I love MK's character design, but in this game I dislike a vast majority of them.

And most of the music isn't great, either. The classic music is usually my go to. I do love the new Tower, ST Garden, and Temple tracks, though.

I'm also a fan of the same color background for the select screen.

In terms of arenas, I hate the new Pit and how they try to pass it off as the one in MK1 in the artbook. Also, I feel MKSM was more true to the classic games than this one. But the arenas are still well done and visually exciting. Shang Tsung's Garden at night is fantastic, but I would've preferred the Warrior Shrine over that.

Story mode had a nice presentation despite some inconsistencies where some characters were in a different costume in the story, but were fought in their other costume. (Sheeva in the Tower had her alternate one, KL had his alt. on as well)

Overall, I wish this game could be similar to MKDA which was dark, but there was plenty of color. And does have the best graphics of any MK game to date, which is always a plus.

I hate the announcer. I wish it was more resemblant of the MK3 days...with the music, sounds, and the look of the characters.

I'm disappointed in the lack of stage fatalities.. like the hyped up belltower fatality that never got in. I'm also bummed out about brutalities since they ran out of time to include them. The music is decent. Overall I just wish there were more stages. The idea of combining The Pit 1 & 2 together was ok, although I woulda preferred if they were split

I don't know why there had to be 4 different Rooftops, but no Bank, Waterfront, Pit II/III or Dragon Tomb.

I wanted more suits. Or at least more color choices.
One of my favorite things ever is the color roulette option in Killer Instinct.
THAT would be hot.

Couldn't agree more about that. This game lack's color, which is what I think they were going for. I remember Ed Boon saying he liked the way Gears of War looked which was gritty and rather colorless. So that game probably influenced the visuals of this one. And I don't know much about rendering techniques, but it looks like as if they ran some sort of lighting filter through the game engine. So it looks as if it has a whitish hue against the dull colors when you compare to the other 3d games. Doesn't look right.

A costume editor in MK10 would be awesome. Think of the in game purchase dolo NRS could make!
Yeah I can see that for sure. Maybe give the characters more accessories to the base outfit their wearing, but have it be limited to what can be put on each base outfit. That way you can still recognize which character you're fighting but also keep the vision of the developers on how they feel they think which accessory goes best with which attire. That way players don't get too carried away and just add whatever they feel like. That's how I would add variety to the models anyway.
