Is the rotating dpad worth it?

I love the 360 d-pad.doing down forwards and down backs are effortless.I hate the 360 d-pad fore that reason also.whenever I try to d1 or d3 out of pressure or whenever, just the slightest bump in either direction and she goes to throw a slow startup ass boomerang at point blank range. And then I take more damage.I can use a ps2 or ps3 controller but Im better off with an xbox controller. And I've tried the reverse d-pad one, didn't really notice a difference.

Rotating D-pad is good, a much improvment to the regular 360. i had mine for 6 months with the dpad not breaking, just wearing out some like all d-pads. and yes, the 360 d-pad IS that bad! I cant even do a god damn back foward without get an extra input or 2. For fuck sake if you press SLIGHTLY too hard on the left or right you WILL get the oppisite direction because of a snapback like motion. Trying to play kabal with it makes me want to rip my eyes out, i cant even do 3,2 NDC more than 2 times in a row without it messing up.

The 360 dpad isn't bad if you use the stick instead is a few of the things I've read...umm anyways, the transforming dpad makes a big difference I find, I've gone through about 4 of them now. However I bought mine at gamestop got a warranty for 7 bucks, when it craps out in 3-4 months I pay another 7 bucks and get another year warranty, if you want to use the dpad on a microsoft "feel" standard controller that is your best option. All the other choices I've tried either have wonky stuff like the block button in the front or tiny unresponsive triggers ect.

Yea it makes me look stupid when that happens.lol.so I'd always had to explain to cage players why I'm trying to use a 45 frame move to get out of f3's.

Hmm, that sounds like a good deal--I like the transforming D-Pad, but wasn't keen on spending 50-60 every 3-4 months. I think I'll do that going forward--thanks for the tip!

Also, for those that are saying that they've been using the transforming D-Pad and it hasn't broke: I believe what is happening is each player uses different amounts of pressure on the D-Pad. Those that are gentle on the pad most of the time will probably not experience any issues, however, those that play with a lot of pressure on the D-Pad could break it in as little as 2-3 months. Unfortunately, I happen to be one of those players. I don't even use the controller for MK, my experience is with platformers and speed run games like Super Meatboy, Trials HD/Evolution, Megaman, etc. and I tend to apply a lot of force on the D-Pad while playing those games.

Xbox 360 probably has the best Dpad you will ever try
It's debate-ably awesome, and did last 10k matches. Jade spam isn't exactly low-pressure either. I personally am ready for a hori based on some research and a few bucks. I'ts all relative to the player, i think this will improve my game, my free online body game.

I hatelove this game
I used the rotating pad for a long time. But for the same price you can order the inpin converter and a ps2 pad online. And it's ten times better for fighters.

I personally use the Xtokkis and PS1 pad.But unfortunately my PS1 pad is worn out(11 years later) and the analog stick is constantly making me jump in FGs or go forward in other games and it pisses me off.

What's worse is that none of my other pads (PS2 nor PS1) work well with my Xtokkis. Some have button problems, some aren't responsive.Even my friend's PS2 pads don't work well.

If someone can find a solution to this other than me buying a million PS1/PS2 pads until 1 works please let me know.

EDIT: I got carried away with my rant and I completely forgot to say that it's the best option you have lol.Unless you don't like Dualshocks.

I've used 3 different DualShock 2 controllers with my Xtokki and all 3 worked perfectly. Every now and then I experience the jumping issue you mentioned, but it only happens if I accidentally touch one of the sticks, giving one a quick wiggle has solved the issue every single time without any frustration. All of the DS2's I've used were bought brand new, in the box.

I've never actually used my DS2/Xtokki to play a game using the analog sticks, but my guess is it would be a fucking nightmare. If you plan on using the sticks then DO NOT buy an Xtokki. I consider the Xbox360 controller to be superior for most any game that uses the sticks anyway, so even if the analog sticks worked perfectly with an Xtokki, I'd still switch back to the 360 controller for those games.

There is no doubt in my mind that if you're using a 360 controller to play MK9 then you're performing with a handicap. Especially if you're playing a character like Kenshi or Freddy. Good luck pressing down, back, and forward accurately on one solid piece of rock hard plastic.

The rotating d-pad will break on you. The middle wears down and the dpad pops off. Happened to me, my bro, and many reviewers online. What sucks about that is it is pretty good until it breaks. yay flushing $60 down the toilet.

I have a 20 dollar madcatz 360 controller with the + dpad, its ok, better than the stock 360, but inaccuracy started to piss me off.

360 pad players pretty much have one option, get a converter and a ps controller.
I haven't done that yet because I saw the videos for hitbox and built one myself to try out the accuracy/quickness. Still undecided if I'll stick with hitbox or get a converter for a ps pad.
This man speaks the truth I uoloaded a pic on my twitter of a damaged controller that the dpad broke on.

In less then a yr this controllers dpad broke so I used crazy glue to put it back together just to have it finally snap a few months ago playing umk against someone who is banned from tym but plays dam good. Look at my twitter (not a plug) obs_edfig81 and look at my pictures. Fucking dpad snapped offf during a game and cut my fucking finger

The Pad works fine on almost every game besides games that use the Xbox's pressure sensitive Right Trigger. And the jumping thing isn't because of the Xtokki, it's just my pad getting worn out from 11 years of usage(better than any of my 360 pads I've had for only 4)

I'm planning to get a new DualShock from a nearby store.I'll just hope it's compatible.
