Hey guys! This is my second post on Testyourmight. I'm usually just stalking the site for information, but I just had to make this post. This is for all you MK players in the San Francisco area. I was at Southtown Arcade (located in San Francisco on 447 Stockton Street) this weekend and I met up with another enthusiastic MK player there who brought the game there to play on their big screen. After playing a couple of hours with him, we both started a chat with the one of the owners of the place. The owner said he is open for installing/modding one of the arcades there to play MK, even with the MK layout or to use with other controllers. Of course, before all that, he needs to see if the demand is there. So if the MK community here in the San Francisco area would like a central location to meet up and play MK, show your support by showing up and let the owner their know there is demand. Consider that KOF 13 was streamed by iPlaywinner this past weekend at that arcade and had more than a thousand viewers watching a stream where the main game was KOF. That could be MK.

Me and my friend will be down there tomorrow a little after 3:00pm to play some games there. I'll bring my MK PDP stick. I think he'll bring his PS3 with all the patches and characters on it. Hope to see you there!

Hello,

I'm an MK player in the San Francisco area. I have a friend who lobbied the owners of Southtown Arcade in San Francisco to have a japanese style arcade machine with Mortal Kombat 9 installed. The game runs on a timer, with a quarter giving 3 minutes worth of play. The arcade is set up so players can bring their own controller and use it on the arcade machine. It's a great opportunity for players who are unsure about Mortal Kombat to try it out without having to buy the game, or as a meeting place for MK players to get together. The MK player who made this possible name is Demetri (or "D" as he likes to be called). So give a shout out to him for taking the initiative to helping the MK scene grow. Especially in the city of San Francisco, where arcades themselves were pretty much dead.

Here's a link to their Facebook page. On their page they have a small pic of the type arcade machines and one with MK9 running on it.

SICK. If anyone around the Antioch/Pittsburg/Concord area or anyone traveling up to SF wanna meet up and go? I'm going to try and make it out! Probably via bart.

Is there a night where MK players go to Southtown?

You're interested? Great! We're trying to add MK9 to the Southtown Ranbats in San Francisco that happen every two weeks. We think it may be streamed by iPlaywinner, but that's yet to be confirmed. Check back here for updates. If you know more people bring them along! We need at least 10 people to get this going. Tell your friends to post here if they're interested.

Glad you're interested. So far no, but that can change. Truth is, my friend D managed to have the owners of Southtown to have MK9 installed in an arcade. It ran on a timer where 25 cents gets you 3 minutes. It's since been replaced by the Gundam Vs. game, but I heard it'll be back when Southtown gets more machines (which I understand to be any week now). But you can just bring a PS3 and MK9 and play it on their big TV and that would be cool with the arcade owners. It'll show them there is an MK scene and we can have more sessions and tournaments there.

Hey guys, all those interested in the MK9 ranbats tournament head over to the, "Southtown Arcade MK9 Ranbats San Francisco Thread" and post there if you want to enter, so we can keep track of how many are entering. We need at least 10 people to get the rambat started, so don't hesitant to post. If you are signed up with SRK, you can head over there to the Southtown Arcade and Starbase threads and post there if you want. See you there!
