KoF is always hype but without a free shirt no one would sign up.


Maybe if we want MK at Evo we can get NRS to make exclusive t-shirts.

ok everyone is talking bout free tshirts....so 1000 people signed up for a free shirt. NRS wont even make a patch, what makes u think they gonna make over 500 tshirts? Also u pay money to go to EVO and it isnt cheap so i guess all those kof people that signed up for free tshirts pretty much paid for them with trip, hotel, food, etc. Stop living in denial people, MK will not be there and if it is I wont be watching it. I was more hype watching SF and KOF then MK.

The people who signed up for the shirts were going to be there anyway for SF/Marvel even some MK players like Pig signed up for the free shirt. It was a pretty boss shirt.

Those people are people who were there for other games and also signed up for KoF. SF players basically just pay an extra $10 for a cool t-shirt, it's a good deal.

As evidence, look at MLG Anaheim's turnout for KoF. Huge pot in SoCal which is basically the KoF mecca and they barely get any entrants. I'm not saying MK will be there and I'm not saying KoF shouldn't. I actually think KoF13 is the best fg in tournaments right now. I'm just being realistic.

I agree with u that KOF is one of the best fighters. I love the game but it is too hard for me to play without any training from someone. I just feel the MK, skill wise, doesn't take a whole lot of effort to get good at for the elite players so they just pass over it. Also with the broken aspects in the game that are far exceed flaws in other fighting games, makes players not want to mess with the game too. Gives us another patch or 2 to fix most of the problems and i will be happy.

I would like to see MK9 at EVO 2013 but they seriously need to patch this damn game. The brokenness of this makes people not even want to play it. It would have far more people wanting to play the game if it didnt have so many flaws other fighting games dont have. Also I dont see MK being at EVO next year. Didnt we have the lowest turn out and the lowest views?

Most of the serious problems of MK9 can't even be fixed with a patch, not even the input bug.
The only thing they can really do at this point is alter the balance, which isn't really needed. I guess Kabal could be toned down a bit, but its not worth it to patch just to fuck with one character.

hitboxes on moves and character hitboxes
add trades not a p1 advantage
fix broken armored moves like lao's teleport
do away with invisibility on wakeups (dumbest thing ever but most wont agree)
random advantage on strings like jax and jc (others may have them too)

I will have to add that armor hurt this game more than it helped this game. Now characters are complete crap cause of people with really good armored moves and now poke advantage and frame traps mean nothing cause all i have to do is armor u to get out. If I am wrong for thinking this then tell me. Ill give an example: Shang gets +8 or more off a d4 on hit meaning i get to start f4 pressure but anyone with a good armored move can stop me in my tracks for following up on pressure i should get cause i connected with my poke move. And yes this has happened to me before and it completely pissed me off cause it was complete bullshit.

AE and Marvel will be there, that's a given.

TTT2 will be there regardless of disappointing numbers, the series has too much of a history to not make it in at least one year. Also keep in mind Evo draws an international crowd and Tekken is still big outside the states.

SFxT and Soul Calibur 5 are pretty much dead and I don't see that changing so they're out. The same goes for Skull Girls.

Persona 4, King of Fighters, and Playstation Allstars are maybes I guess. I don't think the majority of the fighting game communities really big on Playstation Allstars so that's not exactly a shoe in. Persona 4 and King of Fighters are kinda niche.

MK has a chance provided it keeps up the numbers.

- MK9 is exciting to watch, but really fucked up to play due to all its problems, and simplicity.
- TTT2, not so exciting to watch (if you dont understand the game), but plays pretty much perfect.

90k viewers at Evo means that regardless of turnout or t-shirts, the EVO staff will be seriously interested in having the game back.

KoF community isn't stupid, I believe MLG had a schism with the KoF community that led to them shunning the event. Makes sense to me.

Regardless, off topic. I will say however the drama surrounding people saying the brackets were switched won't help MK's cause. DoA had a similar controversy, and I'm positive that will never be back.

More unreasonably stubborn, they'd rather support the grass roots tournament scene they helped build than E-sports. And yes I agree with you I don't see KoF making it to Evo but its still a possibility.

rev0lver: they didn't show up at what tournaments? at SB KoF had more entrants than TTT2 and MK. So at EVO, so at UFGT 8, so at CEO 2012. . . just not at MLG (at Power Up KoF had 27; while MK, 28. . . is that much of a difference?).

Also, you have to take in mind that the KoF scene in the US is pretty much new, unlike the MK scene whose bigger one is, guess right, the US. And yet, at EVO, MK had less than a quarter of the KoF numbers. Do you really think they will drop a game that had almost 100 000 viewers (the second most viewed game, just below UMvC3 for about 5k or less), the third game with more entrants of this year, and the one with the hypest grand finals? I don't think so.
