I work on weekends and have started the Denton Fighting Game Community, so i run casuals up here tuesday through thursday. I can try to see if i can get over there on a sunday, but i have to wait for a check to come in or i wont have gas.

I saw that on facebook, where is it at? is it open to other people? if so I would drive out to Denton every now and then for some solid offline

Yeah man open to everyone who wants to get some games in. The community has somewhat shifted to Tekken Tag 2 though, but there's a couple pretty decent guys that would still play MK. I can also give you my best games with Kitana. I have an Asus coming in semi-soon (whenever i get my next paycheck im ordering it, by the end of the week), finally will have a full setup.

Alright guys, MLG is a month away and i need to decide between that, and saving money for an iPhone 5 lol
Who all is still going? If you guys are still down to go, I'm 100% down as well.
If you guys do decided to go, is there anything you need? Rides? Controllers? anyone looking to party after? anyone looking to get some kinda hotel? lets plain this out, and make the most of it.

As far as casuals go, I can't promises anything lol. however are very own DJ L Toro has started a fighting game community over in Denton, and he is nice enough to let us come and level up before MLG. I wouldn't mind the drive to Denton for some solid offline. would anyone else be down?

This will probable be the biggest event for MK in Dallas ever, so if we are gonna go, lets make it worth wild! It is also in our back yard, we are the locals, and represent everything MK for Dallas so lets try and body at least a few people lol.

I'm going to Dallas for sure because it will probably be the last really big tournament for mk in this area. I actually might consider getting a hotel room near the venue so I don't have to drive home every night. Just have to wait and see how much money I'm working with when november rolls around.
Also, I really need to get some casuals in soon because I literally haven't played at all (online or offline) since UCC, but I work evenings monday-friday so the weekends are better for me.

Not unless someone was already carpooling and I could ride with them. I don't have enough money right now to make it down there alone in my truck.

I DO NOT YET HAVE AN ASUS OR BENQ. i am currently waiting on a paycheck so i can afford one and that same day i get it i will order one. Up here we have a pretty good smoke/ermac/kenshi/noob (in that order), jade, stryker, and a decent liu kang player. As i indicated before i now play kitana as my main and lao has become my secondary. I'm trying to pick up freddy, but doing so will be impossible before mlg.
I think we all need to have very specific goals going into MLG. I'm not talking how do you want to place, i mean what parts of your game do you want to be emphasized and what aspects of matchups do you want to have mastery of? The idea is to ask yourself, "Self, what parts of my game need to get better in order for my overall game?"
For me such goals still include general the rushdown game on characters like kang, kenshi, kabal, etc. Also defending the rushdown from cage, baraka, etc. and the general spacing game.

Denton is too far of a drive honestly. ( @ DJ, pretty sure you said you were in Denton hosting these). I have no car, so I would be dropped off by my g/f, her go home, and then come back to get me, would be probably be over 3 1/2 hours of driving, depending on the traffic. Would just kill gas.

This is all very true, but the real question is are you going to MLG? and if so what are you playing?

I will be at MLG as long as it doesnt start Friday morning, I just cant miss school for a gaming tournament. Once I get that confirmed I will sign up. I would be down for casuals pretty much all weekend, and I am sure people will have hotel casuals all over the place.

MLG usually starts in the evenings on Fridays. They won't be dumb enough to start on the school days in the morning

But this weekend i might be able to run up to the dallas area if a bunch of you are gonna be available for matches. Other than that only casuals ill get before dallas will be with some of the LA guys when im in monroe.

Come to the tekken arena tournament. It's gonna e real dope. I went to test te stream at the venue yesterday and its really nice huge projector hooked up to nice speakers sounds so nice ! And a small stage for the players playing on stream. It's a really nice venue and its gonna be packed with lots of players especially for tekken since the best players will be there.

Mk9 should have good numbers as usual and we got the Louisiana crew driving down as well like eklectic. Grolarbears and more.

Dallas should definelty represent. I'm running the main stream so you already know Mk will get some good stream time.

Are you coming down from Ok??? If you you should definelty try and bring Sonya Blake we can definelty use him for some commentary

You guys have to be there. We can have a 5v5 exhibition with Dallas vs Houston and even Dallas vs Louisiana because they will be making it down eklectic and them.

Read the thread for more info. Lots of set ups. Big venue. Mk will be on main stream by me hooked up to huge projector. So lots of Mk stream time for sure.

No thats a common misconception that I am from oklahoma. I lived there for six weeks for a work related project, in which time i met blake and became friends with him. I now live a couple hours east of dallas. But i was unaware of the tekken arena, ill look into it.
