You can have running in the game, just not a universal run button and sprint meter.
Just do it like other games like KoF or BB, some characters just have a run instead of a dash, FF and you run until you stop. Only a few characters would really need it, and Id rather have that then everyone having fucking armor.

Throws are fine as they are. Tech-ing isn't even that hard, if you're playing a good opponent they will most likely throw you towards the corner, if not, they're cornering themselves. There needs to be no gameplay changes from MK9 to a UMK9, just the absolutely necessary bug fixes, balance changes to characters + some bonus content.

dude... the breaker system is THE best meter management system in any fighting game I can think of. Why on EARTH would you take that away?

There is no running... that was dumb to start with. no one runs at someone two feet away. on a 2d plane.... having differnt dashes are fine.
Every fighting game has 50/50 grab breaks. The problem is that you can't break while blocking. That is the true problem.
Running isnt dumb, its mk and makes faster gameplay which is what mk is all about, dashes are okay but come on dude they fucking blow in this game after the first patch
Juggs what do you think about not being able to break until after a combo is finished? It would please both crowds who want it and dont, seems good to me

What exactly do you mean by not being able to break until the end of a combo? Like literally? How would that even work exactly?

At first I thought you meant like, if you got comboed well you had one bar of meter, but you built an extra bar from damage you can't break until you go back to neutral. So the only time you can ever break is if someone starts a combo and you already have two bars.
 
UMK9 or mk10, things i would want:
- Everyone to have COMBOS, none of that noob saibot type nonsense
- Gravity on air hits like injustice
- Building meter: you cannot Activate a breaker mid combo, you have to wait until after (since people dont like breakers, which im 50/50 about)
- get rid of 50/50 grabs, its stupid people dont lie
- consistent pushback on strings
- Take freddy and kratos out (if umk9)
- Running!
- functioning training mode
- Non glitchy frame data
- Fix 3d hitboxes to 2d only

alot of shit but i think it would be perfect with these changes

one last thing: MAKE KANO BALL B,F4
-no chip damage for normals (lol cage)
-command grabs unblockable

- glitches fixed
- Trades
- some re-balancing
- Couple new stages, maybe a couple new characters
- better net code
- maybe a couple new mini-games

Fix the glitches and slightly rebalance some characters like Kano, thats all really. Anyone saying we need to remove breakers needs to stfu and go play marvel.

Thats exactly what i mean, because it gets real tiresome of trying to initiate damage and constantly getting it broken. The system i propose is better for everyone because it stil pleases people who dont like breakers, and its a more legit gamble instead of having 3 bars, then breaking, then getting easy meter off of getting hit or chip damage.

the run button was dumb. Its integration was dumb... and there is a reason it isn't in any game other than mk3.

If you can't break a combo mid combo... that is also taking the mind game out of "should I just take the damage and the meter... or should I break here for better positioning" . This would further break characters that have good frametraps and standing resets... as there would literally be no way to get away from them.

This game is easy as hell to initiate offense, because you do damage even when they're blocking.
Yeah the dashes in this game are not good, they were much better before.

But really, BARELY anyone uses XRAY because they know they have an easy cop out of a breaker, there is just too much meter options in this game. My main reason why i would change it though is because it would plz people on both sides of the fence.

Breakers are the reason meter management is so important in this game, without breakers there would be no reason to save meter and the game would loose depth. Seriously its the best designed meter in any fighting game out there and one aspect of this game that should not change. And for the love of god please no running.

Before they add any new characters, fact-check the available characters and make the game less bullshit.
It's not that hard. Given the devices, as professional communications and media expert, I could easily look at a fact sheet of info and point at things that break a game.

UMK9 would be the ultimate surprise...

Regardless if it doesn't happen as very unlikely as it is... it's still interesting to hear/read other's ideas for the game.
Throw in Tanya, Frost, Reiko and Shinnok on the mixup as well.
Pit 3, the Bank, Balcony and Lost world on the mixup stages as well

Thats what im saying, i dont know why they nerfed it. Alot of the patches just made no sense.

Also i think its just to many strings are punishable or just a mash d3 scenario. I liked old mk pushback, considering chip on block.
