alright you ninnies. Let me explain to you why i refused to postpone the matches. I realize some of you will still disagree with me but hopefully it will help you understand my decision.

Wound was talking about his connection issues from the very start of the tournament. Which we all know he has, which is no big deal, its online, tough titties. Now, when it came his turn to play Kirbopher, He couldnt connect to him. Pig gave him the option to have Anti-Static fight for him. Which i believe is bullshit, but whatever, pigs tourney, pigs rules. anti static beat Kirbopher putting wound into the winners finals against me. Now when wound could not connect to ME, there was no "let anti static play". It was "lets postpone this until tomorrow". Now if he would have said that when he couldnt connect to Kirbopher things may have been a little different. but since he waited until after that, when he got to me, it was a no go. I was there that night for the tournament, and I expected to finish it that night. We were playing for what was to be my only chance at making MLG dallas, so i played it how I would any other tournament. If a player goes to a tournament and for whatever reason cant play, they're not gonna stop the whole tournament until that player can play. It just doesnt make sense. Not fair for the entrants, and not fair to those watching the stream at home. So in my mind, if this player is holding up the tournament, he should be DQ'd. If they call you for your match at a tournament, general rule is 5 minutes then a DQ. Why should I be penalized when i worked my way all the way through the winners bracket without any connection issues or anything?

Id like to reiterate, NO, im not scared to fight wound cowboy, im not ducking him or anything like that. Hes a good player and quite frankly yes he does beat me the majority of the time on xbl. That had nothing to do with my decision, which i stated above. Thank you.

And your comparisons make no sense. This type of problem is unique to online play; there is no equivalent offline. If I oversleep or don't have a controller, then yes, that is my fault. But the connection was totally out of my hands. The tourney was SUPPOSED to take place in early September, at which point I would have been home and there would have been no issues. Your logic just goes to show how limited your offline tourney experience is. The only person who had a problem with the postponement was you. Nobody in the tourney or chat box (besides one person) had any objections. You essentially eliminated two players from the tourney without having to play them. Congrats on manipulating the circumstances.

Yes, he has. But he is not thinking like an offline player because he is trying to make a connection between two things that are not at all the same (online and offline). As I said, it would totally be my fault in the offline environment if I couldn't play.

It would be even worse on PSN. The reason I wanted a postponement is because it was my college net that was preventing the connection (NAT restriction). My plan was to postpone the game so that i could pack up my Xbox and head home sometime during the weekend because i don't live too far away. I considered just going home during the dispute but it was already late and i wouldn't have had a monitor/tv to play on that night.

I never said he was a free win, but I think I had a legitimate shot at beating him. And how does Static's style figure into anything? It's not like we switched places mid set. He played him from beginning to end. How do you expect me to feel? I got cheated out of the chance to compete for the Dallas money because of Dink's totally arbitrary "honor" code. The point is that NOBODY cared about the postponement except for Dink. I also wish that the chat was recorded. If it was, people would able to see that Dink tried to disguise his intentions by saying that he "couldn't play tomorrow" (even after Pig said to play sometime in the next week). He also tried to throw the fact that he has a job in my face despite the fact that I also have a job and am also a full time college student. I have never seen Dink go more than a day or two without being on XBL. It's pretty laughable that he tried to make excuses and then after they blew up in his face, he resorted to what was "best" for the community (who had no objection to a postponement).

TLDR: Dink talked and acted just as disrespectfully towards me.

Beyond my first post, and maybe one other, I have only been replying to people that are trying to brush it off or defend Dink's ridiculous logic. This tourney was for money, not for bragging rights or for clan status.

I finally got to meet Dink at Evo and he seemed like a cool ass dude to hang out with, and when I saw he won the tournament I was like "awesome! i'll get to see him again at Dallas". When I heard about this situation, I changed my mind. I do not respect players who act in this manner. While someone's mindset may be "this is a tournament, we play it as if it is any other tournament", online is a unique situation. Waiting for the opportunity to successfully connect is what would have legitimized the tournament, ESPECIALLY when there's money involved, not saying "guess you can't play now, tough luck". Being the only one to disagree with a reschedule makes you look like even more of an asshole. Deny it as much as you can, but I really cannot think of any legitimate reason why you wouldn't wait other than being afraid that you might lose. If this happened to anyone else I might not care as much, but Wound is a real stand up guy and a great player. This shouldn't have had to happen to him.

You guys were playing in a online tournament where things aren't always under your control so you both should've expected shenanigans to happen (shoutouts to ice puddles!). It could've been handled different in both ends but it is what it is... Can't we all just be friends?

I guess we'll never really know what would've happened except that if I would've played, I would have bodied you all!

You guys are both amazing players and I wish you both good luck at Dallas! I wanna see you two meet at some point in the bracket. It should be hype!

As much as I wanted to play Wound, there was just no reasonable way he could have postponed our match.
Over half the tourney was still to go when our match came up, so to put that on hold until whenever and then get everyone back to finish was utterly impractical.
However, only needing to grab 2-3 people is fairly simple, and to refuse to play it at a later date that was good for everyone is a pretty big bitch move.

Plus, Dink is an online fraud anyway and lags like no other. <.<

I still can't believe we are just sweeping the whole "Static played for Wound" part under the rug. ESPECIALLY since it was for money and prizes. Thats pretty weak. IDGAF who approved what... it is just as weak as you guys think Dink's actions are. unbelievable.
