This is for people that played in the online ps3 side or payed for someone to play. that is if you had money involved. i will tag people to vote and im hoping noone else does because i think other people are the ones making the most drama.
so if i tag you, please vote and/or tag the person who sponsored you to play.
ALSO, BEFORE VOTING please consider why you are voting.

reasons for a redo:
-broken rule
-reo

reasons against a redo:
-winner take all so reo not winning means it doesnt matter
-it was fun regardless
-you individually didnt play reo
-Madzin deserves his win

Well I want Madzin to take his win but what sucks is all the other factors. Other players like Krayzie for example never had a chance to play Madzin because they got knocked out by Reo, so the problem is that it's kind of a loss loss situation for all.

With that said though I don't want a redo because Madzin still fought a long and hard road and came out on top and I think more injustice would be done to him by denying him a prize than it would be allowing the other players a second chance.

That's just my opinion.

I played REO for my first match up....but I believe Madzin should get the prizes, he earned it and I wouldn't want to be part of the reason it gets taken away from him.

He overcame tough match ups with Noob Saibot to come out on top for the big win.

So those are my thoughts, thanks again for the sponsor Dan :).

As much as i hate to say it, because of his terrible terrible lag, in the end Madzin had a ridiculously good Noob and totally deserves the pot for accomplishing what he did. I'm for him keeping it. But i also think we should definitely do it again. It was perrty fun.

The outcome of the game completely changed. Its almost as if some of us were playing a single elimination tournament, considering how we got knocked out by a Ghost.

Another problem here is that Madzin is playing us from Germany. Can you believe how bad the connection was because of this? And honestly, this is just a personal problem I had with the tournament. Since the rules said nothing about PS3 being region locked, its fine. However, the other problem is that Madzin is not even going to MLG. The rules of the tournament state that the player must attend the event with the winnings, not buy 200 German tacos with it.

I do give Madzin props though. You can tell hes not a bad player at all. I just wish that when we played it didn't feel like there was 10 seconds delay on all of my inputs.

no, the rules said they must attend or sponsor someone else to. if he's not going to go he should be asked who he wants the money to go to. lol german tacos, how'd you come up with that? freaking funny.

So basically Madzin lost to REO as well?

Because either way, it seems we played a single elimination tournament, rather than a double elim, which was posted in the rules before we sent a $10 payment. Honestly, I wouldn't even bother arguing this, if it wasn't for the fact that people did put down money for a tournament with rules that were broken completely and down to it even becoming a single elim for most players.

I can argue that I only got a chance to play Madzin once, and there in lies the, "NO FAIR!" in this whole situation.

If you honestly ask me if I could have beat the guy. Hell no. The dude was anti-airing me on that connection. I don't play nearly enough online to have the timing down for that. Specially not on a SoCal to Germany connection. But I do know a lot of online players who payed $10 who feel cheated in that respective.

Oh, and as I was typing this my friend saw me type that same comment without the "German", and he chuckled a bit and said, "German Tacos." So I just made a quick edit... lol

no madzin lost rd 1 on a no show, but he got there like 10 seconds late (literally pig said "ok, advance khao" and 2 chat posts later he's like im here, did i make it in time?"). you at least got the chance to fight reo. you lost, deal with it.
yeah dude i could tell you were affected by the connection (saw your play at comicpalooza, i was like wtf is krayzie doing? must be lagdrops), but yeah, i mean he felt the same lag supposedly, right?

Thats true the rules did clearly state that the winner must use his winnings to travel to a tournament. I'm pretty sure it even said a MLG event. Why would a dude in Germany enter when 250 bucks obviously isn't going to get him here...

So Madzin was in losers because he showed up late and I was in losers because I was illegally eliminated. Nope, I don't see how that makes it anymore fair.

I also lost the first match to REO because he used Kabal on my Cyrax online. If REO was allowed to play in this tournament, the last thing I would have done is use Cyrax online against his Kabal. But guess what? I thought it was Marvaz. Then I switched to Ermac where I did better, and then gave up shortly after, thinking Marvaz was messing with his connection. He lives 4 hours from here, and I couldn't for the life of me understand why it was horrible.

What you are saying is that everyone who lost in winners has to deal with losing to REO. You're out of your mind. I honestly don't even care much about the tournament anymore, but that comment makes me want to boycott this even more. Money was on the line here, it wasn't a free entrance.

Oh, and as far as Madzin feeling the same lag. I don't care about that man. I'm not an online player, and I'm not going to beat a good online player at that. The problem was people basically payed $10 for a single elimination tournament.

In fact, if Sunky would have won, I was going to let him take my spot as the winner. I mentioned this on the chat. This isn't about me trying to get a rematch, its about everyone else.

you're right, it wasnt free. that's why i agree for reo to play was unethical. but i think a redo is MORE unethical in principal because someone who paid and didnt break the rules won fair and square.
i think if you had a fair chance to beat "marvaz" and you lost then you have no right to complain. I dont think "i thought he was someone else" is an excuse. SURE REO WASNT SUPPOSED TO PLAY, I GET THAT, BUT YOU DIDNT JUST LOSE TO REO. but that's me just being apathetic and has little to nothing to do with whether or not there should be a redo

Theres going to be a redo, I'm not arguing for the sake of a redo. Its going to happen.

Also, I agree that he won his matches fair and square, but I disagree that he won the tournament fair and square. And even thought it wasn't his fault, it wasn't our fault either. Do you see where I'm getting at?

No I didn't juse lose to REO. I lost to Madzin once. He beat me in a single elimination manner, even thought I payed for a double elimination tournament. Madzin did not do anything wrong, the tournament as a whole was bad.

Excuses don't matter here. I just gave you an example of how decision making on top of everything else can affect the results of a tournament.

Let me put it this way. You said, "Someone who didn't break the rules won fair and square." But I personally don't remember breaking the rules either, the rules were broken against my favor. Your logic says, "Madzin beat a Ghost, the rest lost to a Ghost, so Madzin auto-wins." I may have lost to him, but only once.

Anyway. Like I said, I'm not an online player. I have no chance online against this dude who can anti-air in such horrible delay. But I don't just feel bad about Madzin, I feel bad about everyone.

no, how did he not win the tournament fair and square? he didnt drop 2 sets means he won. he didnt cheat means far and square. he won grand finals means he won the tournament. won +the tournament +fair and square=?
you lost to reo and madzin. reo = 1 loss + madzin = 1 loss =2 losses double elimination.
sure you didnt break the rules either, but you had a chance to overcome a cheater. whether it's a ghost, reo, or the grim reaper if you're playing against them you have a chance to win. whether or not you do is a different question.
the purpose of this thread is that if enough peoplevote no i'll plead with pig, cpt, and hatake (who has remained silent, interestingly enough) not to do it again. so far it's 11-3 against doing it, so we can see, at a basic level, that doing a redo would be counterproductive. if the redo is just for funsies that's fine, but if there's going to be money in the discussion it's not ok.
either way if they do it, good luck. im hoping they dont though
