Fairplay, but it'll work for now.The issue has nothing to do with refresh rates. It was to do with the resolution of the tv. Most HD TVs take resolution has the highest priority than the actual display of what is being outputted to the tv. Which means that it will be processing the information to make the image is pretty as possible. This causes an issue when playing video games because you are sending information via the controller and the tv has to process that information on top of producing high quality images thus causing the lag. This is why computer monitors are used because they are made for gaming which optimizes the processing of the images and input of the user causing minimal lag ~2ms which is less than 60hz(16 ms) , the rate at which mortal kombat plays thus causing no lag.
