I think it would suck ass for UMK3, I couldn't even imagine where the run would be and how a UMK3 Layout would work

Finally someone shows the fighting game community why this concept works.

I, and several other UMK3 players play on keyboard as it is, and have for over 15 years. The buttons would function in the same pattern as UMK3 already, but the directionals, I'm not 100% sure would need to be exactly the same as the way it is for the SF layout, however having up by your thumb seems interesting as I use to put an extra Up button next to my Right button to make 720s easier on the keyboard. I'm not sure how Run would deal when having to sometimes use your right thumb for up, but it might never be necessary.

I get how it would work on a regular desktop keyboard, But i don't get how a MKLayout would work on that hitbox.

check out the tournament where marv got 1st, there is a video shows him playing umk on regular SF stick, kick/punch/R/BL button layout is similar to this 'hitbox'.
i think there are many others do the same

You'd probably need to separate the movement and attack button "clusters" further apart.

I was just about to order the sticks and buttons for an MK and a SF stick, but I think I'm gonna build one of these instead. Anyone have a diagram for the curved SF attack button layout?

I saw the guy using it at wed night fights last night. Everyone was bashing it, but he actually did pretty good with it. Nice to see there is something out there for people with a keyboard preference. I know I played fighting games for years on a keyboard on zsnes.
