Getting this out there ahead of time at the request of Big E players. We had 27 players over the course of the weekend at Summer Jam, let's see if we get that many in the actual tournament this time. Updates to come. Also check out www.necphilly.com for registration and t-shirts

LOCATION: Sheration Suites .... 4101 Island ave Ave, Philadelphia, PA .... 215-.... located in the
SouthWest- Philadelphia area ... 1/2 miles from the airport.

They have 3 hotels in the same lot the Sheration owns them all.

Discount ROOM PRICES: $95.00 plus tax.

NECXI WILL BE A CONSOLE-ONLY TOURNAMENT.( may with a few arcade cabs stay tune)


DATES: December 4th and 5th

FEES: $25 registration fee per player ... $15 entry fee per person for non-players. (more info on this later.)

I will also setup a paypal account for NEC stay tune.
Keep you guys out the long lines lol lol.

Tournament will be double elim 2-out-3, semi--3-out of-5-winner/loser-semi 2-out of-3, winner finals-3-out of 5/ loser finals-3out of-5

I have change a lot of entry fee so players can have some kind of money left over to do other things with like eat and party or do what ever. I think this will help the numbers in some of the smaller games to.

All the rules will be the same as all the tournament I've thrown (this will be treated like an arcade version tournament).

We will have 2 Sticks available for use. Other then that its BYOC. We will have between 30+ TVs available for the tournament and there will be 5 games TVs & games open for casual play.

You also can bring your own system and T.V. if you want something else to play thats not on the game list but let me know b4 hand.
You will have to set up in the chill out room.

MAPPING BUTTONS--shoulder mapping is allowed.

I want this to be the BEST NEC ever but i can only do it with the players help. There will be food and drinks available to purchase for cheap.

NECXI will be helping out the local community by having a CAN DRIVE ... so bring canned food and non-perishable foods for donation ... let's show the rest of the community that we do more than play fighting games all day everyday!

Im excited about this one. Phil and I will probably be coming in friday night and be staying through Sunday. So lots of MK madness to be had :)

There will also be an MKII tournament and it looks like there will be enough players to do a MKDC side tournament. Anyone looking to sign up for these should post up.

We're also looking into the possibility of doing MKHD tournaments after the game is released and properly tested. If they are good to go, then we'll run MKHD Side tournaments at NECXI and possibly replace the vanilla games with the HD games at future tournaments(if the HD games are identical there's no reason not to).

Aside from that, we want to gauge interest in a high stakes random select tournament(double elimination, $20 per player), as well as either a 2 on 2 tournament or a 3v3 teams tournament.

Trying to make arrangements to be there!!

And the High Stakes Random should be single elimination only....thus the other part of HIGH STAKES! ALSO, i think $25 per head at least, but i really wanted to do $50 per @ SBR.

I think that the number of entrants will dictate single or double elim... I think that the amount of money to enter determines the high stakes.. but the higher the cost, the lower the amount of people entering...

Then do $50 a head if its Double elim. $25 isnt a lot of money imo

I'm working Friday and Saturday all day and the following week I think I have 3-4 finals...might be hard to stick around for the whole day man...If something happens and I'm done with my job by that time I'll most likely be there for the whole event....

There will be at least 2 original PS1 pads and a PS2 pad... plus I'm sure someone is bringing a wired 360 pad.

can we please stick to one setup thats loud and works good for everyone, resetting up everything 5 times a day really sucks

We will decide on a main setup for the tournament soon, but we'll supply sticks and pads. Anyone can bring whatever they want to play on, hell I'll be playing on keyboard.
