Ok guys this is what really happened at the Houston tournament that took place yesterday. When it gets time to start the tournaments for the other games the MK setup we had didn't not have the latest patch and so then when it tried to hook it to the wifi DL speeds went up to 4k minutes and there was no other ps3 available so it was clear that we weren't playing on ps3, so we brought out a 360 that had the right patch but unfortunately 3 of the 5 MK people that showed up for the tournament refused 360 pad.

So because of low numbers the MK tournament was cancelled at the venue and I just played casuals w/ Cat and others while Jim was telling Cat how scrubby his Kabal is. If was a fun trip even without the tournament and one matchup I struggled with is now one that I understand more clearly.

Next big tournament is bbb3 @Monsters_arcade. its a 2v2 format. Betty you down?

It seems that all the Tourneys in Texas are 3 or 4 hours away from where I live. ;(, If I ever am in the area I will be sure to check some of these out.

Yup. There was no tourney. It was gay as fuck. There was actually 8 ppl but they didn't play because of xbox and 1 was on the way but his friend told him not to come cuz it was only a few ppl for mk. Idk why adeel didn't show. And some ppl who were gonna from uh didn't end up showing. Who had mm$ against me and Jim.
Jim didn't even really play because he played on ps3 pad. He just kept trying to coach Betty on how to beat my beast of kabal. Lol. But Betty gets it more now. Which helps me because I have to change up my kabal to make it better. If you guys come bbb3 be ready. Betty can't save y'all anymore. Lol. I think Bbb will have a tourney. Because it's in a arcade and more ppl like going there. Crow and khor might even join because Jim is trying to teach them mk as well.

It's about that time fellas. I'm going to have to put travelling, even to Gameworx, on hold. My wife's due date is Oct 25th, but the Dr recently told me she can go into labor early so I can't take a chance of being anywhere but w/her if she goes into labor. I certainly don't want to miss a phone call or take a chance. I'm for sure not quitting MK9, considering I've put a lot of time into another backup char besides Cage, but as far as going to Gameworx, I'll most likely be there next month beginning of December, hopefully sooner.

Betty, Spin, Josh, Agustin, Mario, Bassman, keep playing and keep the scene alive. This is a great game that will not die out anytime soon and I'll be back w/you guys before you know it.


FYI, I can have people come to my place, it doesn't have to be Thursday, it could be any other day, as long as I'm home. If you guys want to come, awesome. If not, that's fine too and good luck peoples

Thanks man. She will arrive on the 25th, before or after. So far she's expecting to arrive on time. Release date 10/25. No patch required. She'll come out top tier w/no bad matchups

About MK9... If there is another patch then I am gonna stop playing this game on a competitive level. Unless it has to do with hit boxes or just the game play in general and not individual character patches.

Spin: Yeah, I agree on the patch thing. The only char I truly love is JC and it's no longer as fun to play him. I have a strong backup char now, but I don't really enjoy playing this char. I'm now 100% convinced JC cannot win a major

Lol. Talk to Jim. He would tell you Johnny cage is like top 3 in this game. And I agree. His f3,2 nut punch is not that important. Since he can still combo it in juggles.

Kabal has been the best since patch 1 IMO. KL is still top 3, easily. Raiden would be 3rd, almost no bad matchups. JC dies to too many chars. He's too hard to win w/at the highest level. He's entirely guessing, that's his game.

I get that, but if that's the case, it's sad whoever is ultimately responsible for tournaments is very out of touch w/the community. All they have to do is look at what tournaments are doing across the country, it's PS3. Either way, I'm not running it so it's not my problem, good luck to everybody that shows up, hopefully it's a good turnout
