This thing is hilarious. I checked out the MK pages for it. It basically describes highlights of video game series. For instance, it claims MK is the most successful fighting game series evah! And it claims its the first fight/beat 'em up with digitized actors, ignoring pit fighter (releaed 1990) completely. It also says MK is the longest (as in most entries) fight game series saying tha MK8 was due out in 2008 while series like street fighter were on on 4 despite being around "a much longer time."

They also say both Virtua Fighter and TEKKEN were the first 3D fighting games.

And, in one place on the MK spread they called it "Mortal Combat.".

This is definately a funny excuse for releasing a book desperately attempting to get kids interested.

Damn, do they have emulator scores in that thing?

I was thinking about buying it, but thy didn't go into specifics about the book.
They basically said that it had a lot of information and interviews that I don't give a fuck about.

No. It has no good info in it. It doesn't have anything about players or scores at all. Its all info like what I described above. It has not even a little bit of good info.

It has stuff like gran turismo was the best selling PSX game and GT4 has the most cars in a game.
