Silly youtube people...

This guy made a video about MK and made some really invalid points. We started discussing it in his posts, but I think he knew that he was wrong about some of the things he said, so he deleted some of my posts and blocked me.

I regret some of the things I said and even apologised to him. He made some valid points which changed my mind about certain things, but he doesn't seem to be able to do the same. Anyway, I just thought his last post was funny so I thought I would share it with you.

Here is his latest post which proves to me he knows very little about MK:

No, you don't have to be skillful to do the infinite attacks. My friends and I always pissed each other off when we do Spear>Upper Cut>Spear before they land and repeat. We all were able to do it, it didn't take skill, just getting the timing down, and all it ever did was make us all mad at each other. You can do similar methods with Sub Zero and other characters. Blocking is an option, but it only works if we just stood there and did NOTHING but block.
"Cheap" best describes the gameplay of MK.

I would have replied and explained to him why that wouldn't actually work, but he blocked me so I couldn't. He obviously doesn't like blocking in fighting games or understand how to use it correctly. I was polite to him throughout the discussion, so I dont understand why he blocked me, but it could have something to do with the fact that he doesn't know what he is talking about.

I dont usually talk to random people on youtube, but something about his video got me annoyed and I just had to set him straight. How can you make a video about mechanics of MK and not actually know what your talking about...

Let me know what you think. Feel free to flame me as I do deserve it for even trying to explain something to random youtuber. I wont be doing that again, lol.

OMFG YOUR SO DUMB, MK IS THE CHEAPEST GAMPLAY EVUR, D00D LOL BLOCKING IS OVERATED AS WELL. Nah, you were right imo. I hate pricks on youtube, most are idiots.

This kind of thing really belongs in either Myths & Fanlore or General.

Yep, people just get frustrated and come up with excuses of why the game isn't legitimate. Other peoples' opinions don't really affect my own, so I ignore it.

Ok, glad to see someone out there agrees with me ;). Sorry about posting in the wrong place, dont know why I stuck it in the UMK3 area. Thanks Dave.

That guy reminds me of people who moan about umk3's nightwolf shoulder bash, its surprising how many people dont realise you can duck it without blocking. Do they think midway would really have such cheap tactics in their games.

Yeh but then nightwolf just runs in and does his combo for 40+% lol, I can see why people would get annoyed at that

cheap goes with MK like white on rice. But that doesnt mean it isnt skillful. Like Dave said, ignore 'em.

What's the point in arguing with people like this? Nothing you say we'll change their opinion. UMK3 is only a good fighter at high level play. What I mean by this is when noobs, play noobs... it becomes a nooby game. There's very VERY limited players who can actually play at high level and 99.9% of high level players are known. When bad players actually see high level play, they become so suprized that the game takes soo much skill and their opinions for the game change (sometimes for the worst). When they play a high level player, they hate the game even more when they get butt pounded. This, of course, isn't how all bad players are but for the most of them it is, especially from players who play other fighters.

This guy's obviously an idiot so anything you say will be a waste of time.

I realise now that its just a waste of time trying to convince them about the quality of of MK, I just cant take it when people talk shit about a game that has so much depth.

I think most people believe that MK has always been about presentation, which is true to a point, but thats also one of the things that makes it different from every SF style game out there. "I liked the idea of a free hit", I could almost kiss you Boon. O_O ;)

My only question is, why would you even make a video like that? And post it? Why on earth would you waste your time putting something like that together? He must have ran out of porn to download. I guess that's what youtubers do, maybe that's also why youtube is filled with spyware
