I wouldn't be missing anything as far as MK is concerned.

Firstly:
As things stand now, Tom Brady can retire .. because he just closed the book on Sub-Zero. If you could retire a character, we'd retire SZ and just put Tom's picture in his place in character select. On the list of great community moments, this was a perfect cap to just over a year's work of MK, and the perfect setup to what's sure to be a crazy weekend at MLG. Props to Tom, props to Denzel for making this possible, and props to the West Coast for being good sports -- and providing hype.

Secondly:
If you didn't see the Jax mirror match.. I don't even know how to describe it to you with words. That was the absolute highest level of Mortal Kombat, and I've never seen such tension, anticipation, and excitement for a match. Condensed into 20 minutes was the most intense, most equally matched, highest display of the utmost in clutch playing and making use of every available resource.

Reads, reactions, spacing, tactics, mind games, adjustments, comebacks...

Alright, I'm going to stop before I start rambling. But I want to say in closing:

THIS is why I love MK. As far as I'm concerned this game will never die; and if in 20 years there are 5 people left on earth that play it, I will be one of the 5.

More power to our community, and here's to a fantastic MLG this weekend.

Tonight made me feel better about the future of our game. It was looking pretty bleak for awhile, but because of a few top players, this community is back in business.

That Jax mirror was just incredible, one of the best matches i've ever seen.

That whiffed X-Ray at the end though....damn, well you've gotta go for the risky stuff to win the big prizes.

The Jax off was one the best displays of high level Mk i have ever seen. Amazing play from both guys and unbelievable use and reads from Tyrant with the air gotcha grabs.

Brady x Denzel : Brady is the best Sub-Zero player ever. Period, end of story. His knowledge of the character and his fundamentals = amazing. :cool:

CDJr x Tyrant = epic, one of the best technical match ever so far, both are in the same league/level, truly gorgeous display of agressive, smart and good footsie game. :D

Brady Vs Denzel was entertaining, Tyrant Vs CD Jr was entertaining, but it pisses me off seeing all of that Jax stuff going unpunished.

MK9 entertainment doesnt end at this MLG though, still EVO to come.

.. and once again f0xy has set himself up bigtime for EVO. Nothing less than an epic performance will be adequate after all this talk :)

Triforce's face after the Sub mirrors was priceless. I hope the Mlg tournament can supercede or match the hype that we saw last night. A year after the game has been out and I love it just the same. Awesome mirror matches.
