E3 Approaches, Boon Says Seeing a New Mortal Kombat is "Not likely"

As E3 (Electronic Entertainment Expo) approaches in just over two weeks (June 5-7)... it's got many in a buzz about 'what' we might see from developers and it's got the Mortal Kombat community curious. However, days ago the chances of a new Mortal Kombat being announced at this year's E3 has already been shot down and by no surprise by Ed Boon via twitter. When being asked by a follower, "Any chance of another Mortal Kombat being revealed at E3 this year?", Ed Boon replied, "Not likely".



Regardless, this should be taken as a grain of salt at this time, but that doesn't necessarily mean we won't see anything from the NetherRealm. Afterall, there have been rumors of another fighter being made by the team... and the glove fits as they have mentioned before about "branching out" from Mortal Kombat. A new Killer Instinct? One would hope, but the rumors say otherwise.

I was under the impression the next game would be released along side the movie? I'm actually fine with a new MK sooner than later. Keep the engine and build the game without the bugs/glitches....maybe even apply legit hit trades.

Does Ed Boon not like his own creation? I sense that he's not proud. "There will be no more DLC characters", even though sales were great, "There will be no more MK related projects in the near future", why? The business man in me would be pumping this shit out if people were buying...

Lets think about this for a secon shall we? When has a developer ever told us exactly what we were getting prior to the announcement? Never. Of course Boon isn't going to say yes, because then he would've just announced it.

There's an MK movie coming out next year, If WB release a game along side it they're in the big bucks, especially after MK9 was such a hit. NRS also supposedly have a panel at evo, they didn't last year, what would be the reason for such a thing? The stars are alligning my friends, it may not be revealed at e3 but I have a feeling that well be getting the next installment sooner than we imagine. It fits in with the usual 2 year development cycle of MK games too.

These banner images should have been the cover artwork for the game... Only replace the "Finish him" and "Fatality" with "Mortal Kombat".

But who knows what they're working on next. From their careers page they're certainly working on something.

The more this goes on the more I think we don't need a patch.All the glitches won't be fixed and I seriously don't want anymore balance changes.

I personally thought the previous patch was the best version but I'm starting to think this one is.
