MK9 noob joining TYM :)

Hi guys, I'm fairly new to MK9 and since I didn't want to remain a complete noob forever, I wanted to check out and join TYM. I played a little Tekken, Guilty Gear, and BlazBlue for quite a while, but I finally got the chance to try out MK9 and decided to switch.

I've been trying to figure out Jade for my first few weeks into the game. I realize she's low tier and not the best character to start out with, but I guess that's why I'm here.

Welcome and Jade will really help you learn fundamentals and spacing of the game, if you enjoy the character, nothing wrong with playing them:).

Welcome to TYM! And as far as Jade being low tier....didn't Blackula BABY Kabal multiple times with Jade?

Thanks, guys. I don't know if I will be maining Jade for sure since I just started, but I like her tools and range so I'll try to learn her game.

Play who you enjoy, that's the most important thing to maximize your fun with the game.


Good luck on your main hunting though:).

Yeah, I'm not winning too much with her online yet, but she's the most fun out of everyone I tried. btw I watched a bunch of your jade/stryker matches. Hopefully I'll be able to play like that in the future :)

Jade suffers in online lag, it's hard for her there don't get discouraged though, you'll eventually get the hang of her and this game's online. She's very techniqual in some respects, playing her really does teach you the ins and outs of the game, my game improved so much from playing her.

Thanks! Lol actually I wanted to play Ermac or Jax at first, but I liked the idea of Jade's Glow and her range. I played a lot of footsie chars in other games, but I'm not so sure they're as big in MK9.

Right now aggressive footsie characters are the strongest. Jax, Sonya, Cage are all very aggressive characters with good to great footsies, and arguably all top 10 or even top 5

Welcome to the site! Another Jade player eh? It's good she's getting some love.
