Team Spooky to Take a Break After Evolution 2012

STORMS

According to EventHubs.com Spooky recently announced on stream that after Evolution 2012 he will be quitting his streaming services. The reasons reported were due to heavy traveling and a 'lack of enjoyment' at the last five events before Civil War 4. As of now, it is not clear if Spooky will stream at all, whether it be locals or majors again or if at all.

This is definitely unsettling news for the fighting game community as Spooky has been a complete asset for us all. We've all seen his streams and when we've been watching his streams they are reputable to where 'stream monsters' repeat the words "CALL SPOOKY!" in the stream chat when there's an issue. He is one of the most recognizable streaming talents on the East Coast and he will be missed. We wish him well and all the best in whatever lies for his future.

If you're attending Evo 2012 this year, be sure to give this guy a hug for all of his hard-work!

UPDATE:
Updated: Spooky clarified what his plans are recently, and noted while doing the Civil War stream that:

It's not really retirement, I won't be doing these kind of events anymore, though.

Just a slightly above average player.....
Why do I have the feeling that this won't be the last time we see vic doing this.

After working with MvC3 stuff all the time, I'm sure it probably would've gotten to me too. :REO

But seriously, he does need a hug for all the trouble he's gone through to help the scene. I can't imagine trying to travel everywhere for majors and doing constant stream for events that could last the whole day.

Well, I'm sad. I've experienced my first stream last year at PowerUp due to TeamSp00ky because it was MK's first tourney. I wasn't into the whole FGC, and when I watched his stream I was surprised that this kind of culture and atmosphere existed. I wasn't aware of the awesomeness of Tournaments, and I've been following every MK stream since, and Spooky is fun to watch.

This sucks.

I really don't blame Vic at all. Sure, we all love the guy for what he does, but that job sucks.

Spooks has done SO much for the MK community. When others wouldnt step up for us, Victor did. When people ignored us, Victor didn't. When MK needed it, Victor gave it to us.

Thank you, thank you for all you've done for us, for me, for Mortal Kombat, Spooky. You truly are an Elder God.

A great man! He has done so much for the for the FGC. I remember the first time I watched his stream for EVO 2010, it was amazing. Much respect, and thank you so much for all that you have done. Definitely a Hall of Famer in my book.

From what I can tell (and I clearly have a psychic link with Spooky :-P) he could still be streaming local events like Big 2, and things in NY, but he won't be traveling to stream.
Ah ok. thats what i got from it. thanks haha

Spooky should join and put his wisdom and skills to help prosper MLG and MK/SCV and any other future FGs with Sabin. Because the grateful are always the ones that don't get much. Smaller communities aren't spoiled.

This is in conjunction with STILL supporting community hosted events.
