What is this?
Klash of Kings is designed as a Northeast/mid-Atlantic monthly Mortal Kombat event. This is not a tournament; but instead a monthly casual stream similar to what we know of VSM and EGP.
Why is this?
King of Prussia is located right outside Philadelphia PA, a central hub for all of the east coast MK players. The east coast is saturated with tournaments and large scale events, but no level up sessions outside VSM exist.
As a stream viewer, should I care?
Absolutely! Our staff feels that we can present a professional MK stream with elements not yet scene before. Inspired form Bar Fights in southern California, each month we will be featuring marquee match ups selected by the community. A king of the hill inspired challenge where one player will have to face 5 worthy opponents each month to hold his/her title in a best of 3. The king loses, a new one will be crowned. We have a crown as well... a crown for a king. Instead of running a normal tournament bracket each month, sets of 3 will be played by various players and then swapped for two new players. This way we will avoid having the same players and/or characters on stream for an extended period of time. Obviously the stream will be promoted to make requests!
We plan on introducing new ways for which the stream can interact with the event such as community bets that will occur for each marquee match up, monthly prizes donated by our special venue, lab sessions to improve the overall knowledge of the MK player base, and much more.
I'm looking to attend...
Our venue will support around 8 to 10 set ups. While not 100% confirmed yet, with the help of MAK we could possibly have EVO Asus monitors at each station.
The King of Prussia Mall is the perfect location to hold Mortal Kombat events! There are dozens of places to eat and visit on top of playing MK... all under one roof (well two, it's a two part mall). If you plan on attending and are not in the tri-state area there are plenty of hotels near by. Most of the hotels are priced at $100 a night. For most people, King of Prussia is the dead center of the east coast MK community. A bus ride from New York is going to take around 2.5 hrs and range around $10. From soVA, you are looking at around a 2.5 hr drive.
The events will always be on Saturdays, allowing us to stream from 12pmEST till 10pmEST. After parties will take place at the Valley Forge Casino; a block away. 21 or older for that... or just look it like Kevo and Classy.
When is this?
There are some things to work out with the venue. We recently moved our planned venue to a larger location, so now we are starting over with our hosts. We did this only due to size issues.
Within a week or so we will have the final date as to when this will occur.
