MK9 Locals' Results 4/22: Canada, Texas and Ohio

This past weekend on Sunday had a lot of Mortal Kombat tournament action going on in many parts of the US and Canada. Including the hard-work NeoRussell puts in to his local scene of Toronto to the local scenes of the mother state of the USA, Texas to lastly, but certainly not least... Ohio's very own Console Combat ran by PLAYING_TO_W1N .

This just goes as a reminder that we do not have to wait around for majors to come around. All of these smaller events all started somewhere and now these hold regular events that bring the players that fuel the scene. Thanks to all of the players that continue to come out to help make the scene what it is today.

Here are the results, brackets, and videos from April 22, 2012 at our Console Combat Monthly. Players include CoCo OMG its Andre, Toiyet, DandyJ, CoCo GenesisDC, CoCo The Blacktastic, CoCo PLAYING TO W1N, CoCo/C.O.R.N Antwan Ortiz, Honkey#1, CoCo Brennan Karaba, CoCo Forever King, M2Dave, MasterD and others....

This monthly included players from Ohio, Michigan, and Penn. ~108 people attended this local. Behind SoCal, this is one of the most active and growing scenes in the entire country!

Really great outing for this local for Toronto. We usually get 20+, but even 18 is a great showing. Hopefully this helps a lot of guys level up for Toryuken. Certainly is doing that for me. I mean, top 3 in a top 8 that is very strong over all. Locals are a good way to get rid of nerves.

Yea man for sure. Was it your friend KidVegas who recorded a bunch of matches? Ive been trying to round up as many videos as possible to post on the results thread. Let me know if you guys have any.

mygod went kano vs starcharger's kit and won. onlyt time i seen him use kano all tournament.

Really cat? my Kano and kabal have beating you before bro and your right they might not be at their higher level of play but I bet my chars won't lose to no sheeva offline or choke on grandfinals at no tourney :)
By the way good luck on your next tournament!

lol I haven't touched online in ages. But I still remember beating you :p. Your kabal didnt do a single dash cancel and all the air fireballs were fail lol. And you need more than wake up upballs to beat me..and I didn't choke I was beaten by a better player. Who im sure can 3-0 you anyday :p Why didn't you come to Texas showdown?
Make sure to come to Comicpalooza so I can body you and take your money :)

After watching NeoRussel, i just realized that Jade has a really strong potential for rushdown, with a mix of swift and good reach moves. And btw, ex-glow ignores breakers...that's big.

Cat for your on sake don't ride on Showtime by saying he would 3-0 me before playing against me,secondly I was playing on a ps2 pad that keep giving me bad inputs so my dash cancel play was off and by the way I didn''t play my main characters in the finals.

Texas showdown was in my plans but a 3 day trip for a videogame tourney change my mind since my personal life comes first.

I'm still undecide it for Comicpalooza but I hope it doesn't end in a restroom shameful gimmick.

I would bet $50 he can 3-0 you. Lol and my kabal can do the same.
I see. Well Comicpalooza will be on just that Saturday for mk. So it helps. Plus a 300 bonus for top 3. Try to make it out. :p

Guys, guys, guys. This was a great weekend for the Texas scene, we had a great turnout and we had great competition. There is no need to have a dick measuring contest. MyGod beat Starcharger 6-0, in winners finals and grand finals. Starcharger is a very awesome Kitana player, so that in itself should prove his competence. Cat we are all Texas scenes, so let's cut the animosity and give props were they are due. You all can settle your personal differences at a different tournament.

For anyone that is interested, I will link the results page that has the top 4 streamed and 5 or possibly more videos from pools.
