Guild Wars 2 - Beta Weekend

I am wondering if anybody else here on TYM is planning on playing the Guild Wars 2 beta this weekend? If so, you should send me a PM because I plan on playing.

I was a big fan of the first Guild Wars, and was very competitive in the early life-span of the game with the World Tournaments.

I am really looking forward to this game, and am wondering if anybody else here is as well?

I plan on playing as either a Charr or Asura Elementalist. It's going to be tight.

Just this weekend and you have to prebuy to get in. From what I hear it will be almost impossible to be a part of it without purchasing the game.

Yea only this weekend, no idea when the next event will be. This is the first event that has been opened up to the public.

For sure, I already know I'm going to like it a lot. Me and Morty created the 2nd best guild in America when competition was at its best, they had a few world tournaments for $100,000's.

I've never played mmo's loads, guild wars always attracted me because of it's monthly fee being zero. Plus I loved the art style of it, wasn't as nerdy as wow was and took itself a bit more seriously.

Yea this game will be amazing from what I've been seeing and reading. The game will be better than MMO's that do charge a monthly fee while Guild Wars 2 remains free to play after your initial purchase.

I believe there are going to be other Beta Weekend Events leading up to the launch, but I don't believe any of the dates have been announced yet. If you can't get into it this weekend, maybe we can play in one of the future events.

Also, by Pre-Ordering you will have access to the game when it goes live 3 days earlier than those that do not pre-order.

As Sao had mentioned, we will be streaming it all weekend on the Digital Dojo channel if you want to check it out.

What kind of video card do you have?

I know ArenaNet has designed Guild Wars with the idea that you can get away with playing it even if you don't have a beastly computer.

There are in-game settings where you can scale up/down the graphics to be able to play based on your system specifications.

I have intel hd 2000 graphics, I could always upgrade to some pci express x16 card to play it, but my girl only has the intel something graphics, but she is upgrading to a geforce 8400gs so she can play diablo 3. She can't get anything better since it's a pci express 1.0 and her psu sucks. She has a slimline, but she is playing guild wars 1 right now no problem.
