im definitely looking to get into the atlanta scene. as i stated on a previous post im from the stockbridge/mcdonough area (henry county) about 25 minutes south of atlanta. i would love to be a part of the MK community here in georgia. been playing since the game released and im finally tired of online. i play with decent people online (people who have participated in tournaments) and would love to level up and get some offline skill.

Hello friends,

My name is Derek and I have been an active member of the GA Fighting Game Community since about 2007. My history of fighting games has always been Capcom related, from SF2, to 3S, to SF4, and now my main game has been Marvel (trying to get into Skullgirls as well!) Anyway, I was really excited for MK when it first dropped last year, and played it pretty hard for about the first 2 months of its release, with my only tournament entries being once at WNF in LA when I was vacationing out there, and last year's CEO (where I had to play Chris G in the Reptile mirror first round. :/ ) However, after the game started getting patched like every other week, I stopped focusing on it.

I've recently watched the MLG MK matches and the Powerup matches, and I'm really amazed by how much the game has evolved. I think it's a blast to watch (I usually tune in to the BnB stream) and I think I'd like to give it another shot, especially considering the fact that Georgia has a really incredible pool of talent. I'm not going to lie, though, I'm pretty lost as to where to begin. I talked to BeeneeWeenees a bit last night about things, so that kind of motivated me to post up here. :)

I should be at Revival anyway for other games, so hopefully I can watch and learn some while I'm there! And tonight, I just might dust off my copy of MK for the first time in nearly a year!

Hope to meet/learn/play with you guys in the future!

I'm not from GA but I'm willing to make the trip when I get a car. Currently trying to get one but its taking longer than I expected. I always plan ahead of time so I'm wondering when would best time in the next 1-3ish months? I would come anytime before that but I just don't have the money for transportation or a hotel.

I don't consider myself a bad player but I have the motivation and dedication to improve myself and the NoVA scene. It is too the point where I felt like I'm putting too much effort than I should. That wont stop me though

This was friday night. This was a bit after the 3and a half hour trip with 2 nova guys, I was tired as hell, and crashing from adderall. I am not in anyway using that as an excuse a excuse, I know what I was doing wrong. I felt like adding that part because I honestly felt like I could have done better and had a better reaction time.
1:42 is when I started and 3:28 is where I get off.

I didn't know which thread to put this in so I chose it at random
