GGs to Espio872 had fun last night, we should certainly play some more! I can see Viola being really difficult to approach and figure out once you get more familiar with her, her mixups seem pretty decent, still getting used to that orb lol

I need to learn how to do critical edge moves the input is weird to me (so sad haha). Brave edges are fine though and the other moves.

That orb is ridiculous, I was watching that Kimberly chick do those big juggles with her CAS version, her and ZWEI I need to definitely get down.

"Drop kick a ho" I could not stop laughing at Sigefried's shenanigans.

The chatroom was brilliant, the level of trolling is immessurable.

Yeah, Mitsu has some nice mixups. The 2KB is what you gotta watch out for when he's got meter, hits low mid mid. The 1A/1A~B is another 50/50. The 1A~B is the mid. His 6B is another 50/50, the 6B hits mid while the 6B~2 hits low (also can combo, so look out for that!). Mitsu isn't too difficult to learn though, so you could figure him pretty quickly in the trainer I'd say, pretty easy character TBH.

I had a lot of trouble doing the CE on my PS3 pad, I use my Hori Fighting Commander Pro 3 for SCV and the PS3 pad for MK lol. I just do the double hadouken input as quickly as possible though and that usually works out for me, took me about an hour straight to start feel comfortable using it though but you'll get there, it's not too bad. Realistically, I'm going to have to learn Natsu, though I don't know if I'll play her but I have no idea how to deal with her in the time being. Decent mixups, the bomb (which can be avoided from what I understand), and the speed on her makes her really formidable up close...I think she's like Quan though, once you crack her, she's easy to figure out so I may play her. Quan used to just destroy me, so I took the time into learning him, and now I can't get enough of him; he has HUGE holes though. Dink's playing her so I'll probably give her a whirl lol

But yeah, I think Viola is certainly viable as well as ZWEI, Viola got buffed I believe too so there's that! It's a fun game though, obviously a bit deeper than MK, but not overwhelmingly I'd say - of course the people I know who've been playing the series since PSX annihilate me though lol

Thanks! I'll keep that in mind, his brave edge moves are interesting. I may learn an accessible character alongside them. I can't believe how much you already seem to know about Mitsurugi, I'm a bit jelly. Very nice mix ups also. Mit always seems to be an overall fun and accessible character in every iteration of SC since I can remember with the second game, of course I only played at the most casual level so I could be wrong:p.

Natsu seems like she's very rushdown oriented too, which might suit you overall very well.

Quan Chi scares me with meter, dem traps. He's a very unique character, he's one of the few characters who gets more deadly the more you beat him up, I don't know if this was intentional by NRS, but it really makes him stand out.


I went into training mode today before I left for college, I just learned a 6 hit combo off of her launcher, which has like a diagonal motion to activate it's like :qtr Triangle, so I was hyped:). The orb has to already be set though so there requires a little bit of extra preperation to get her standard BNB's going, which I guess is cool since she's a fortune teller, kind of fits her nicely.

It seems like a lot of the motions for SCV are built specifically for doing things on an arcade stick or other controller type imo, I did pull some off today on my pad, I can do it 24% of the time now, which is remarkable improvement over 0% from earlier lol.

Yeah Viola got some nice buffs from what I recall from the patch notes via 8WayRun, we got lucky and missed the first patch so we don't notice or miss anything in our characters, which is awesome.


I was going to be really lame and make a Twilight character with ZWEI's style, but lolz.....I might just leave that alone:oops:.

Is this your first Soul Calibur game? I played Soul Calibur 2 and 4 prior to this one, but never on anything other than a casual level.

Yeah it's def. got a bit more depth than MK, but accessible enough to not be totally off putting to noobie players.

That sucks lol, but on the positive side, at least they'll help you level up much quicker.

lol good games and very nice Yoshi. I didn't mean to troll like I did during those fights, I kept taunting on accident (Viola's taunt is similar to her two button specials.

I need to learn Voldo, so I can take PassionFruit online against everyone and do well lol.

I thought it was funny we had a Rain/Jade battle in SC, so awesome.

Also GGS to IniquityDM those Leixia v.s Astaroth matches were ridiculous. I know how to do CE's now:cool:.

I'm tellin ya', I had no interest in Astaroth and then I made Chuckles the Clown; now I can't get enough of him. Had no interest in Aeon either, and now I've made UNK the caveman with his moveset and I want to learn him lol. SCV man...

GGs to EMMURE789 I don't get SCV's netcode man...MK runs fine for us but SCV shits out all the time, it's whack. I really feel that MK's netcode is better (after the various patches to it). I doubt Project Soul are going to tinker with SCV's netcode but it really is a piece of crap. I get so many disconnects against friends, randoms, in ranked, player lobbies, everywhere - especially when I'm matched with a '4 bar connection' with some guy from Germany or Japan. WTB region lock and stable netcode, also no ridiculously idiotic CaS in ranked where I can't see my opponent's hitbox/attacks.

AGH! This game! lol
