Damn.Nobody had any qualms about Cage being top 10 circa-Evo, seems the discovery/removal of dirt (in Cage's case, F3,2 2-in-1ing in specials) is a bigger concern for the community than their own fundamentals and the game's overall nuances. No wonder the Jade and Sub-Zero forums aren't showing any progression, they're still falling back on theory fighter.

His situation is a bit similar to Sub-Zero. He started out as godlike in MK9's earlier days, then the metagame changed and he became less of a threat. Granted there's still excellent Reptile players out there (such as Joker8417 and TylerLantern to name a few), but his options appear to be substandard compared to the rest of the cast.

Nah you're just about on the nose to be honest Blake, the only thing I will say about it is that he is just an easy character to figure out, so in order to play at a high level with him you have to keep changing things up. He has options for just about every situation, and I feel like he is a top 10 character still (if played correctly), but I could be biased.

I've played LionHeart enough to know that Sub Zero is a very good character. He might have some really bad matchups that keep him out of the top 10, but he is still capable of winning a major or at least placing top 8 consistently. Tom Brady has already shown that, so it's hard to say that Sub Zero is really that bad. If a good Sub Zero puts you in the corner, you might as well drop the controller. Sub also can dictate how the match is, if he trades iceball with someone and can land a slide or combo then he forces the opponent to get close which Sub can ice clone. If they choose to zone, then he has the EX slide to punish with.
