New Official Northern Virginia Meet up thread

Good shit today guys. It was a lot of fun

We are meeting up at tricky's house tomorrow afternoon for casuals + watching the mlg stream. Message me for address.

Once again I appreciate the knowledge from last night Lulz. I was surprised I was doing somewhat decent against the Kabal pressure. That little experience from WB definitely help. I kept missing punish opportunities with the character I should be most comfortable with. Instead of going into TKS I was trying to start 3,1 string into it. For Sektor-Mileena when she does EX TeleKick into Air Sai to escape full punish, do you know if I can quickly d4 into TU before she lands?

What was your take from last night sir?

Well I do the Ndc a lot slower online because of the delay but its not that much harder offline. You'll see when you come down to one of our meet ups. I'm literally doing around 25% of the things I know kabal online. I don't bother doing the rest because I'm only using online for footsie practice. I'm sure you noticed because I didn't zone and used iaGb for pressuring you to make a mistake. You'll get used to it the more you play with me

you have to crouch block the second hit. I forgot the options sektor has but its either d1 or standing 1 into something but it might be a tu. Another thing you weren't baiting mileena's d4. The match is actually in her favor but its still winnable. I rarely fight sektors with her so I don't exactly know how he punishes mileena. I was actually thinking about picking up him or kenshi. I dropped raiden and KL

edit: I respect that you call me sir but I'm only 19. Besides Creepy, I'm the youngest one here lolol. You probably couldn't tell how young I was lol. I feel weird when people older than me call me sir.

Yeah I definitely noticed things you were doing seemed more about teaching/learning then playing to win.

Andrew (SwiftTomHanks) told me that Mileena is Sektor's second hardest matchup. As far as Ermac goes, I got the impression that is a tough matchup for him as well. His toolset up close compared to Kabal is limited, and forget it if Kabal has meter.

Why do I get the feeling I am the oldest person in this thread?

Yep, that is how I play casuals. The people here don't understand that lol. They think I'm limiting myself because I don't zone in casuals. Even with casuals they are out to win. I guess thats something I will never see eye to eye with anyone. I'm glad you are taking it the right way.

I didn't mean to counter pick your sektor like that but Kabal and Mileena are my only mains. I do know more characters but both are what I'm focusing on until Flawless Victory in April.

Yep, Kabal with meter is definitely something you need to look out for. I messaged you with that tip about en nomad dash because you were getting blown up by it. I did notice improvement though. I have so much trouble with Lui Kangs and Ermacs online, not sure why XD

Well everyone is in there 20's besides Creepy and me. He is actually 17 I think.

Ermac and Mileena go back and forward, 5 - 5. Ermac can punish both mileena 's Telekick and roll hard enough around 33% or ended it with f4 for pressure game. Also ermac d1 beats mileena d4 at point, and can interrupt her combos in between. Same thing with d3, shrinks his hitbox and leaves it in a good distance for teleslam. Basically, this much involves ermac to rush upon her, since mileena at distance can out zone ermac without worrying about getting hit cause of the teleport. I main ermac myself, and sub sektor as well.

Dont worry, i m the yougest and i still kick everyone s *** As long, you are up to win, you should do fine ;)

Potentially ma friend. I might be headed up to NY this weekend. But get ready, I have learned the sub/blax MU up and down :)
However, I think it would be really sweet if we could get a bunch of us to meet this Wednesday at the comic shop! We can set up the local tourney for 10$ buy in. What do you guys think?

Sure i m down for any mini tournament between us, i was always for it since we started the meet ups. hmm, you arent the only who level up this week, i got to play death and blackula offline for hrs ;) Also, sub and cyblax arent all i have, i have others too. The thing is i can only make it, if someone gives me a ride lol i was going to ask you if you could give me a ride this friday, but i m down with wednesday.

I wouldn't be able to join the tournament. I owe Andy a lot of money sadly

edit: I got my execution down again so we can actually have a decent mirror. It didn't take too long getting used to the hitbox
