I realize we don't know each other, but player to player, it gets better. You are in my top 5 favorite TYM users, and I hate to hear the shit has been sliding towards you.

The title is misleading. This topic should be closed, and a new one should be reopened that makes its goal clearer.

IMO, nobody should vote for other people to be on any list. The people who want to be on the character lists should post which character(s) they want to be under (no more than 2), as well as their GT, which will be what is displayed on the list, and their record + player/ranked TS (displayed next to their GT), as a rough indication of their skill level. Not unless you're a fighting game vet, playing the very best from the start is not a good idea--you're not going to get anywhere. Baby steps, which is why I think people should play others of equal skill levels, and work their way up. With the lists in this topic, it's hard to tell who to fight. All we know is that they're good players.

Shit happens, it's the online effect. I swear if EVERY person had a minimum of a 6 person bi weekly tourney within a hour drive, life would be better...

The lists aren't in any order of who is the best with that character. They're all just good players that use that character. Should he put them in alphabetical order so you all don't get butthurt over your placing in the list? MY GOD!

And it's been said MULTIPLE times that it's not a who is the best person to ever play that character on xbl list, but a list of good players that would give good matches and thus experience against that character. It's a sort of match making tool so that people who want to play good players can.

Of course you could beat almost everyone there... but that's not the damn point.

I'm glad most of you are starting to grasp this. Honestly, I'm just going to make a whole new thread when I get time and post them in alphabetical order so no feelings get hurt.

And at the end of the thread, I'll even post tournament players who are good...but I will need help with those.

Idk dude, i can never pull it off. I've been practicing b121 f4 NDC 2 f4 ND due to the vertical range of f4. thats the only one i can land online so far

The problem with online is that it often makes it impossible to play a full and developed game. I personally don't even take my mains (Sonya & Kabal) online at all anymore. No matter how good you are in your reactions, even the slightest bit of delay turns a sure fire AA (Sonya's 1, Shang's D1, Kang's 2) into you getting blown up by a 30% combo or more.

In a lot instances when I play online (no matter who it is, a random on player match or someone of my friend's list) I see that people sometimes play almost half of their character's move set, neglecting certain options that would get them blown up or destroyed. Even as a match up tool it's incomplete. How many times I've seen online players come out to casuals and still jump at Sonya even though I know her 1 AA is godlike punish. How many Kabal's I've seen go for shitty quick combos just because they don't execute the good ones online (and it does carry over to offline play).

Having watched Kevo absolutely go HAM into top 16 at Winter Brawl I have to say, if he didn't get used to online timing he cold have been easily pulling off REO status combos with dash cancels, instead he settles for less meter and less damage because of online conditioning.

It's okay to keep tabs on who's doing what in case they show up to tournaments, it's not okay to hand out best all accolades just because they can do a lot in lag.

yes I agree people who tend to use a lot of AA 1's and 2's offline (me with Sindel) tend to get blown up by jip combos far too often online it's is a reaction that you get used too and the muscle memory makes it hard to not do this.

Bodem... i commend you for this... mainly because most of the people who've been mentioned or have posted... all are very good players who help others out as well. To me... that is the entire point of the online community...

I am not trying to knock online players or anything, and I get why this thread is here. Some people don't have other options or just aren't into MK competitively on THAT level. The problem is naming something like this "Hall of Fame" makes it very easy for some people to take this to their head. The truth is, you maybe great online, but until you show up at an event and actually put something in, you can't really be getting off the title of "character expert online."

I stopped playing online for that very reason (and that I actually have a competitive offline scene). A few people beat me and then ran around screaming "Shady EXPOSED!!! Har Har Har!" The truth is some players (and I'd like to think I'm one of those just from my play style) rely a lot more on spacing, good footsies and just methodical punishing. When I play offline I always know what moves to use at what distances to contain the opposition whether they're just dashing or they plan to jump, and I know my reactions to each of those options. Online eliminates it with the random factor where basically I don't know WHEN my move is going to come out proportionate to me hitting the actual input. This fucks up a lot of my AA and spacing options forcing me into bad habits like constant jumping or some unsafe moves to control the space instead.

All I'm saying is that the reason it is hard to take online more seriously is because of the random factor that forces you to often cut out some of your character's moves as if they don't exist just to be competitive and have a reliable approach.

Anywho...I have to say to the guy who posted Crazysindel, please take him off any list...played him other day, he rage quit after my Ermac destroyed him and sends me hate mail saying "fucking spammer" he's garbage.

You want a REAL sindel player, guy out there named didiDothat? Don't know who he is, but he's fucking beastly with Sindel, best one I've played. I managed with Ermac but he has her turtling game down to a T.

lol yeah I've been using Sektor a lot more lately, I have this 50% one bar of super meter combo with him...I love it lol. P.S. nobody has ever beaten me with my own character for the guy who said so...wink wink

He said it was a lose-lose situation, because it'll be drama whether he beats REO or not. Nevermind that: PL told them that he'll donate, he just doesn't want to play anyone for the above reasons.

tl;dr version: PL is fine with supporting charity, but he wouldn't support the NY scene for any sum of money in the world. With the way I've heard some of those guys talk about him, I can't even blame him for that.

I think he thinks they talk about him way more than they actually do. The general consensus is that he doesn't go to tournaments, so we don't consider him the best right now, and we cant consider him the best if he doesnt participate. if he fucks us all up then its up for argument. Carl is my homie but lets be honest, He judges players just as much as anyone else, so he cant get mad at that.

Anti Static has an array of characters he is good with. I would suggest to anyone to play a set with him. You'll learn quite a bit.

I'd also want to add Gr8one06 to the Kitana list. He also dabbles in other characters as well.
Senor Menace is a good Kano that plays pretty regularly.
ripcrowley plays NW like a boss.
Temjiin has a good Reptile and Sektor (dude... you help people... your name goes on here)
Satsui has a great GREAT Mileena and I am fairly certain his brother plays Kitana

Just wanted to get some names out there not really mentioned that I run into fairly often.
