Best Players : Each Character [Xbox Live]

Definitely.
There's quite a few good ones. I'm going to list you, as well. I know we've only played Noob mirrors but I was impressed from what I saw so as long as you don't mind the pressure of having your name on here; you'll be up there, too.

See, thank you for posting that.

I've never played them and I'm trying to do this without looking at my friends list/leaderboards so thank you, I appreciate your input and know a lot of people speak highly of your game so you will be added as will everyone else you spoke of.
Well, I appreciate that, but it definitely wasn't what I was gunning for. I just wanted to rep J360 because he may just be the best Cyber Sub in the business. As much as I don't like it when people try to compare the US and UK scenes, Usedforglue probably deserves a mention as well, since online encompasses both.

Off the top of my head, you need the following:

Liu Kang
IE Xblades

Sub-Zero
Lionheart

Sektor
IKizzle
Ketchup

Cyrax
J360
Winter Warz
Mustard

Noob
Flawedzilla
Boot Knocka

Reptile
THTB
Milky Situation
Citizen Snips
TS Sabin
Rapzilla

Mileena
Jguthrie

Shang Tsung
Wound Cowboy
Shady9XD
Shanghai Tsung

Kabal
Milky Situation
REO

Quan Chi
lol

Skarlet
Ninj
Skarlet Goddess

Kung Lao
Perfect Legend
LK-520 / Its Like Orange
Forever King

Scorpion
Slips
Forever King (who should probably be under half of these anyway)

Ermac
Krebs

Smoke
Zombie Penguin (put him under Quan, too)

Raiden
Perfect Legend
B Wizz

Baraka
Kidigital

Sonya
MortySeinfeld
Shady9XD

Cage
Lionheart
Foxy Grandpa
RodneyQuillz
Sao87 (REO, eat your heart out)

Sindel
Keywestboi

Nightwolf
Crazy Dominican (In fact, probably the only Nightwolf I've played that wasn't fucking terrible)

JennyCage doesn't play anymore, but she was a fucking phenomenal Cyber Sub player, too. To be honest, most of the Cyber Sub players I've seen online are absolutely terrible and had NO idea what they were doing; J360, Pig and JennyCage are the only ones who seemed really solid to me. I may be forgetting a couple more that were... Decent, but unremarkable. Either way, she could easily be thrown in there as well.

Elder God
thanks for the suggestions altaire, but ketchup and i rarely play online anymore so wed both likely be pretty poor at it right now.

although i dont see how f0xy could possibly NOT be right up there for cage and sonya, he plays online like, every day

Altaire while I don't disagree with any of your suggestions based on skill, I do question the activity of some of those players. How often do j360, arturo, reo, pl, slips, bwizz, morty seinfeld, and CD sr. actually play online? I have never encountered any of them in my time online and I've been playing since release. I get matched up against people on the tip top of the leaderboards very often, so it's not a trueskill gap or anything. I've never really heard anyone talk about matches they had with these players online. Am I missing something?

I only post the players that I've played matches with so if I don't have someone in here, that means I've never played them.

Noob Saibot
Flawedzilla
Boot Nocka
I love how I'm not under Noob even though you played my Noob six or seven times and got blown up really badly in every single set. Most of the time it was Noob vs. Mileena, which is a bad matchup for him to boot.

Then again, you also somehow concluded that we "went even" even though you only had a handful of wins in an over an hour, which you only admitted after I called you out for it.

Was gunna come in here and make some sly remarks, but I decided against it (Btw Kindred listed as a good CSZ? Loolololololollolo)

You're talking about leaderboards.

Think about that for a minute.

P.S. PL plays online quite a bit, he just doesn't play with people he doesn't know. 16 Bit will play pretty much anyone who sends him a request and introduces themselves like not-a-total-douchebag, from what I gather. Crazy Dominican doesn't give a fuck one way or another, so he'll play anyone at all in the lobbies.

Need I go on?

Altaire

No need to be snide. I'm not trying to call you out or "question your intelligence", just justification on some of your points. I'd actually like it very much for you to go on. That way I know which of those guys I can message on XBL and ask for games and actually have a shot of playing and learning instead of just being ignored or told to fuck off. Sounds like I can catch 16 bit and CD if they're on. Who else? This list is essentially a matchmaking tool, after all, and i'm sure you know most (if not all) of those guys personally enough to say one way or another. :) Thanks for your input!

I'm not even trying to be snide, necessarily, just pointing out that taking the leaderboards as a complete reference point is kind of silly. A lot of these guys don't play enough to have star-studded records, they just use online for practice.

I have almost as many losses as I do wins, and that's because I go well out of my way to play the best competition I can find. I learn a hell of lot more from that than I do from playing people I could easily trounce.

Speaking of which, why not let me play you sometime? My smoke is still learning-tier and I'm sure we could get some good practice in.

While this is always an interesting idea, you will also catch a lot of backfire for this. Personally, I believe that being the best player online is like being the skinniest kid at fat camp. Not to knock on a lot of really good names on this list. When I play some of the better ones online I can always tell who has good fundamentals, who has good footsies and understanding of the game (f0xy for example being pretty good with his pokes with Sonya).

The problem with online is that it often makes it impossible to play a full and developed game. I personally don't even take my mains (Sonya & Kabal) online at all anymore. I will play with Shang, Stryker and Liu Kang for a bit, just to kind of have fun. Poking in lag is like walking through the Sahara in a sand storm. No matter how good you are in your reactions, even the slightest bit of delay turns a sure fire AA (Sonya's 1, Shang's D1, Kang's 2) into you getting blown up by a 30% combo or more.

In a lot instances when I play online (no matter who it is, a random on player match or someone of my friend's list) I see that people sometimes play almost half of their character's move set, neglecting certain options that would get them blown up or destroyed. Even as a match up tool it's incomplete. How many times I've seen online players come out to casuals and still jump at Sonya even though I know her 1 AA is godlike punish. How many Kabal's I've seen go for shitty quick combos just because they don't execute the good ones online (and it does carry over to offline play).

Having watched Kevo absolutely go HAM into top 16 at Winter Brawl I have to say, if he didn't get used to online timing he cold have been easily pulling off REO status combos with dash cancels, instead he settles for less meter and less damage because of online conditioning.

It's okay to keep tabs on who's doing what in case they show up to tournaments, it's not okay to hand out best all accolades just because they can do a lot in lag.

Fully Composed
As someone who plays MK on XBL almost every single day, I can also say that there are some of the "cream of the crop" that I've never run into once. But I only play ranked matches or private matches with friends. It's hard to find good people who are down for some matches in the lobbies, so I avoid them for the most part (need more TYM rooms on Xbox :D).
With that being said, it doesn't mean that these people aren't out there and they should certainly be included in this list. But that also doesn't mean that they are the only ones to be included. This thread is to find good people who are on XBL to work on match-ups with. Of course I'd love to learn the Raiden match-up from playing PL, but if he's never on or doesn't want to play then I'll happily take the next best thing.

That's enough derailing for now, though. Back to serving this thread's purpose: KARS1215 for Scorpion, and DREAMHELPER for Sonya. Both are beastly.

Smarrgasm

What's a Smarrgasm?
I wouldnt consider myself one of the best rains or subzero's online. However i would like my name on both their lists if possible so i can get more competitive experience (even if it has to come through online play). Hopefully BodamEscapePlan and some others can vouch for me as being at least a decent player.

Why make a thread like this? This is stupid.
Have to agree. Best player for each character for online play? I guess being able to adapt and adjust to lag/delay is something to be admired. Online is okay for vaguely learning MU's, but for MK9 I would say you're better off playing offline against the computer then playing online considering how atrocious the netcode is. Too bad they never updated training mode in any of the patches...

i like this idea i will help out anyway possible my gt is the same as my name i may not be the best but i can try to help plus ineed exp in the matchup. the whole online thing i feel is moot. i can pull of fall my combos online and off i really dont notice the difference, yes there is lag but i adjust to it and compensate for it. there is no need to change your gameplan, but you may need to change how you time something if you see its not connecting. i know how it feels though cause i get hella salty when i miss my AA's and eat combos but i deal with it and try to adapt

Faded Dreams V

Retired June 2012. Unretired June 2013.
I think perhaps the title of this topic should be rephrased. Instead of a hall of fame that will increase the size of certain players' e-peens, why not a topic where every user posts their mains (you can put a limit on how many they can list), XBL GT, and both their w/l ratio and TS rank range (the only rough estimate of skill level we can work with). The topic creator will keep a list on the first page with all this info for every character in the roster.

In essence, a matchmaking topic. I was actually thinking about making one, but I've been busy.

Some of us can really only get some matchup experience online. Although it might not be the best way to practice... it's really all I have except for when I'm at tournaments.
