April MK1 Patch Notes (Not a joke!)

I WILL EAT THIS GAME
I do agree that NRS has traditionally had a bad habit of over nerfing characters, they also have had a tendency to knee jerk balance characters. This is why the NRS community has some of the most downplayers you’ll ever see. A lot of them are simply afraid of their mains who they have worked hard training with getting nerfed and nerfed to the point to where all the work you put into the character has gone to waste. That said, there hasn’t been many nerfs recently that completely nerfs a character into the ground, at least not that I’m aware of. Anyway, this is why I’m such a strong advocate for buffing far more than you nerf, and that when you do make nerfs, to make absolutely sure they’re warranted and to not overnerf or change the character so much that they’re no longer fun to use.

However, with all of that said, they didn’t lure anyone in with some sort of promise of the character being OP. He just happened to be really good, too good. They never advertised him as made purposely top tier, there was no reason to assume any negative intent or an intent to deceive anyone. Also, the nerfs are due to community feedback. Not just with their words, but also simply demonstrating what he was capable of doing. Some still don’t think NRS takes the communities feedback into consideration, which is absolutely wild to me that some actually believe that is true.

So, it’s not like they intentionally advertised T-1000 as an OP character and/or marketed him as such. Only to know they were going to nerf him once a good portion of the purchases of him went through.

It’s impossible to make everyone happy. While I do think they should buff instead of nerf the vast majority of the time, that’s often fairly unreasonable to expect. I’d imagine it’s a lot easier to maintain overall balance if you just nerf the OP character versus buffing a bunch of other characters. The balance patch would take much much longer to do, and tbh, balance patches don’t really benefit NRS hardly at all.

I could do a deep dive of all this, but a lot of it would be things I’ve said so many times before already.
I friggin' love when people say stuff that actually makes a whole lot of sense. Does not happen often.
