I personally wish they went further with the MK chars. Kobra doesn't even do any of the moves they gave him in MK1 lol. Imagine if it was Kabal and Kira. Now that's fucking tight. Ghostface with a Nomad Dash? The world isn't ready

Or shit if Billy is hiring mercenaries, let him hire Erron Black and Jarek too. No loyalty give him Red Dragon goons too like Hsu Hao. When they showed Kira's butterfly knives attack I legit thought it was him, because he had that exact same animation first in Deadly Alliance

Something about it thematically is just lame to me, and I'm not sure I could even put my finger on it exactly.

Yeah, I wanted just Billy and Stu, tbh. My silent prayer was for Doofy. Them being MK characters maybe could've been cool somehow, but the way it's done seems like it's to avoid him being a "dude with a knife." Like it seems insecure in a way. The Fatality seals that feeling. It's like "huehuheh he's just a guy with a knife huh?" energy. Cringe.

But I'll still try him out. I'm a huge horror guy, so oh well.

I mean this is definitely a take you could have, and I'm POSITIVE on that.

I think it's a pretty clever way to make the guest character feel more like an MK character and work in the, "more than one killer" thing.

Plus those sound effects? The stingers on his command run and grab? Nice stuff.

@Kiss the Missile I think a pseudo infinite would be pretty dope, but def something they would patch out. That said, switching mid combo to the Kira killer and doing the re-stand seems dope for setting up further strike/command grab mix ups.

And I'm wondering if you could use Sektor or Goro to maybe combo off his command grab.

Lots of ideas! What a POSITIVE update!

Imagine Ghostface just pulls out a old time revolver and just starts blasting. That would be funny as hell.

I think they honestly just should've made him MK Mokujin. "Anyone can be Ghostface."

Iono, everything's subjective, but when someone says "x character with gun would be funny," my brain says you should check out this little indie title that's critically acclaimed, they call it Fortnite.

I wanted a regular guy(s) with a knife. When everyone's special, someone normal is unique. It would've been cool.

Gosh, Fortnite is pretty cool. Very bright and colorful, which is super POSITIVE!

Isn't Johnny Cage the "normal" guy in the New Era? In terms of powers, I mean. He doesn't have his sweet fireballs anymore.

I think they did a lot of fun stuff with Ghostface. The run, the crawl, the 90's phone he pulls out, the sound effects, lots to love there.

They did do a lot of cool things with him, there's absolutely no doubt about that. I was being hyperbolic about being that disappointed, and I've said I'm still gonna play him.

But man, I was very invested in this guest. Horror guests are my jams. They're like the only guest characters I play, ever. So I'm a little emo over him not being to my exact taste.

I mean overall he's still just dude with a knife, even the Kobra and Kira stuff is entirely contained within their stances. So you can play Ghostface (probably optimally I think the other stances are gonna be ass) with no MK flavor on him

Yeah you have to be able to play gf optimally without the stances since the switch is a 12 sec timer plus goes away as soon as you get touched and costs 1 bar to switch to begin with, you wont be spamming this so most of the time you will be regular gf

Mavado seems really good for Ghostface. Command grab combo that let's you switch Ghostfaces mid combo, same for regular grab and you can get pretty stylish with the combos. Only like 27-30% off the command throw, tho.

You can also in combos with air 12, stance run 2 and mavado slide for oki pressure that breaks armor and has the hard to blockable going for it, and can condition to block the low and be grabbed.

Just typing stuff while taking a poop break from labbing.

Havent experimented with ambush kamoes, they will probably open up things for him but heres a basic assasin combo with sereena utilizing the dagger cancle.

44xxsareena knives,44xxdb3EX,hold L2,222xxdf1 ff 22 1+3, j22, b3xxEX shroud,db3,44xxsareena knives,44xx run 1

426 damage

I think kano and stryker used to connect the db4 and teleport meterless will be the go to for him outisde of mavado.

@Vulgar Yeah none of that was interesting. Every character in the game has 30% grab combos, that mixup situation with Sektor is the most fuzzyable setup of all time between a 20 frame overhead and a 13 frame low.

I was hoping for some real shnasty shit. I'm not saying Ghostface is gonna be bad btw, I just don't think he's interesting at all currently

How many characters get those command grab combos from full screen?

People get hit with 20f overheads all the time.

I understand what you're trying to show me, but none of it is interesting. I was hoping he'd have some sort of weird animation cancels with the other killers, Backstage loops in the corner, standing reset combo off his b3.
