I am in Cleveland and going to the NCAA tournament the weekend before but I might have to make back to back trips out there to check it out if it really is next month. That is insanely short notice to round up so many top players...

It's not about wanting to go. It's about being able to go. I am already traveling to ATL for FR weeks before this, then traveling to Ohio weeks later for PowerUp.

Who gives 8 weeks notice for a tournament, especially in the middle of Evo season?

I love all of Under the Mayo's videos for the same reason. And I brought up props for the cue card guy because I've been that guy before, and it's an important job that people don't get enough credit for.

I definitely have a lot of respect for the sacrifices all you guys make to support the game's offline scene (especially the people who are tied down with careers etc where time is not as flexible). Hopefully the payouts are great and make it well worth having to get the time off for the event.

Doesn't the person who comes in 16 get $1,000? Did I ready that correctly or what? The payout for 16th is better than coming in 1st at any major lol. esports.

Mortal Kombat has not been picked up in the league as far as I can tell. This happening would be dependent on the amount of people that show up. We would need around 3-500+ people for a good showing if we want to see payouts like the above.

I'm guessing they will announce what the payout will be, tournament structure and rules soon. It will end up being a lot more than anything we see at grassroots majors. Hopefully the brainwashed can help support MLG, MK has finally been given a chance to live.

That wont be the prize pool for MK9 i can pretty much guarantee that. In the 2011 season Halo Reach (4v4) 1st place was $20,000 & at Nationals it was $100,000 & in SC2 (1v1) 1st place was $5000 & Nationals it was $50,000.

This is a huge opportunity for the MK community. I hate to disrespect FR and other majors, but if I spent money to go to majors I would definitely drop FR and others for MLG. The payout will be better and if there is enough numbers better things can come of it.

In my humble opinion, in the long run supporting MK at MLG will be much more beneficial to MK than supporting it at FR/Powerup. All that can should do their best to make an appearance.

Of course, it is still important to support MK at as many scenes as possible, so the more the merrier.

Yo mlg is a great scene.... being a former halo fiend.... last year I had the pleasure of playing reo in a lot of offline casuals.... I placed 4th and can't wait to see who all shows up in march!! Plus the cash pot is ridiculous
