Well MLG is going to be awesome.
Timing is terrible no doubt. Since you are in the mid-west already maybe carpooling and sharing a hotel room is an option? It's not about wanting to go. It's about being able to go. I am already traveling to ATL for FR weeks before this, then traveling to Ohio weeks later for PowerUp.
Who gives 8 weeks notice for a tournament, especially in the middle of Evo season?
This really pisses me off.

Tolkeen was being genuine when he gave props for taking the time and effort to do it properly.Yeah, it's scripted, so fucking what?
Jesus christ people do you have to whine about everything? It's not like it's harming the game, it's actually helping the scene.[/quoT

I definitely have a lot of respect for the sacrifices all you guys make to support the game's offline scene (especially the people who are tied down with careers etc where time is not as flexible). Hopefully the payouts are great and make it well worth having to get the time off for the event.Yeah, it is. I may still go depending on the top 8 payout details.
But the other problem is taking time off from work. I'm already taking off tons of time for the Evo season.
Doesn't the person who comes in 16 get $1,000? Did I ready that correctly or what? The payout for 16th is better than coming in 1st at any major lol. esports.Yeah, it is. I may still go depending on the top 8 payout details.

If i remember... top 16 make like 1,000 dollars minimum. I swear I remember reading that.Yeah, it is. I may still go depending on the top 8 payout details.

Mortal Kombat has not been picked up in the league as far as I can tell. This happening would be dependent on the amount of people that show up. We would need around 3-500+ people for a good showing if we want to see payouts like the above.
I'm guessing they will announce what the payout will be, tournament structure and rules soon. It will end up being a lot more than anything we see at grassroots majors. Hopefully the brainwashed can help support MLG, MK has finally been given a chance to live.
That wont be the prize pool for MK9 i can pretty much guarantee that. In the 2011 season Halo Reach (4v4) 1st place was $20,000 & at Nationals it was $100,000 & in SC2 (1v1) 1st place was $5000 & Nationals it was $50,000.League Game payout.

really which tourneys are gonna have a bigger payout. those are the ones that people should plan on going to. if you gotta drop FR or PU to get a bigger payout from MLG why not? if FR or PU is gonna payout bigger, skip MLG. I understand it's not always about the money, but if your argument is financial then go to the better payin tourney.
