dunno what others think, i love it. im so excited to see all new chracater backgrounds and developements.

quack shang is gold and i'm very surprised but not totally unpleasantly by the kronika appearance

I don't know what you guys find hype about you-know-who, even the first appearence. It felt forced. Maybe now it'll be better. Meh. Only thing I hope is they do justice to my boy Shao this time and return to his former glory.

Fraud Shang was pretty cool, and definitely confirms he is the shadowy figure from Reptile's bio that wants to study him and find out how he shapeshifts (as he can't shapeshift here and just uses makeup/a wig for the old man disguise - which I hope is a skin btw).

Not thrilled on the overt connections to MK11 tbh. Just jumping right back into it despite the bold claims of new era and a fresh start. But hopefully the overall story mode turns me around on this, this is only 17 minutes worth I suppose.

What else is there though apart from that is fantastic. Love seeing humble beginnings for both Raiden and Kung Lao. Love the extra detail they've gone into on everything. Had some funny moments too like the old farmer, and the guy at the bar drinking whilst Kung Lao and Sub fight (and using Sub's ice for his drink). Also love how we're seeing an origin story for most of these characters, like Kung Lao figuring out how to make the hat.

Also, I'm running with the theory that Madam Bo is Blanche. Maybe Liu met her in Outworld and effectively recruited her to keep an eye on his bois in Earthrealm.

Probably not because it's too early in the story, though.
I also think it'd be very weird for her to be the last character, considering none of the leakers seem to actually know who the character is and we've already seen her in the story. That would contradict quite a bit of information we've received so far.

Smoke collecting debt as some local Mafia yakuza boss ? that was unexpected !

Kung Lao and Raiden chemistry is top notch, amazing interaction, so entertaiment !

Shang career started as a business charlatan and next, the ultra megalomaniac with inflated ego , due Kronika proposal ? Let's see how that works

Anyway, this first chapter looked pretty good already and much more interesting than anything done in MK11 ..... cannot wait !

In theory ... Kronika and Cetrion are both still around. They were sent to the hour glass in Aftermath. We already know the hour glass is there. It's already heavily hinted that people are coming from other timelines. Liu Kang is now 4.5 billion years old. That also is clearly Jennifer Hale's voice. I'm somewhat stunned she would be in the game but have minimal voice lines. Madam Bo sounds like Kelly Hu. Although both are versatile actors. I personally don't understand the dislike for Kronika. I am not a Raiden person but I do like this version better. He's so handsome in his unbuttoned shirt.

I just hope Kronika isn't the fucking end boss this time.

Also, Kung Lao and Raiden as kids beating the whole Lin Kuei clan, grandmaster included, between the two of them ughhh... Why do they not deviate from shit writing like this? It shouldn't be that hard.

Did Liu Kang send the Lin Kuei there to test Raiden and Lao? He was watching the fight in the background and not protecting Madam Bo from Smoke. Also I could see Bi Han shaking down an old lady for money, but never Kuai Liang. But new timeline and all but damn.

it was a planned set up

Liu is testing the new ones Raiden and Kung Lao, so, of course that Madam Bo agreed to participate of this little "drama" , so, all the Lin Kuei went easy on them, otherwise they would be all dead in a minute !

in the full game, Liu will get up and say "Enough" and reveal all the truth, that he is there to recruit both of them to protect Earthrealm

for official released authorized by NRS, not at all

this first chapter, is pratically , an extension of some already shown clips ..... is very basic and did not spoil anything important of the main events and main story .... I guarantee that you can watch this without hurt your personal experience once the game come out

yes it is.. there is a MASSIVE spoiler in this that pissed me off to learn and it is not like a trailer, as in you literally play this yourself in the entirety at the start of story mode. It is one single massive spoiler that makes nearly your 1st 1/2 hour boring as you are just doing something you have seen before.

Anyway, I have to have very select on twitter use and going into threads around here until the game is released now. : (

I think the new outfit and the new voice actress is doing wonders for Kronika right now. If she was playable with a scaled down powerset, I wouldn't mind having her and technically she is a new character in that she was never playable before. Just give her interesting cool stuff to do if that's the case.

It's only Chapter 1 but I'm liking Kung Lao's softer but still confident attitude. And it's nice to see beyond the confidence/desire for glory and adventure he's a bit of a goofball with a good heart. Time will tell if he starts to get a chip on his shoulder when Raiden ends up being the Protagonist not him.

It’s actually pretty clever. Sub says “you haven’t a prayer against the Lin Kuei’s grandmaster” and I’m thinking…. Yeah he really doesn’t. Then I thought about why Liu must be there, and your comment made me remember the trailer where Liu says “enough” and that’s obviously right after this fight with Sub-Zero, when the get recruited.

We know from the Sindel / Shao Kahn trailer that Raiden is earth’s champion. Does Liu just deny Kung Lao again or does he fucking die again? Cause at least in that first chapter he seemed to be better than Raiden.

it is more because of the virtues that Raiden has and Kung not ..... when Liu presents Raiden to Sindel , he make clear that he has all human quality acquired to represent Earthrealm , so ....

he just kinda a .... rough carbon cell to be lapidated into a shine diamond, hehe

that, in time, make Raiden a better person, and a better fighter than Lao, to represent Earthrealm and win
