Oh yeah, they have a crossover thing, right? I own it for Xbox, but I don't have my Xbox set up anymore.
It's out on Windows too. I was in a similar situation a few years ago when I wanted to play it again. I don't recall whether or not I had to pay for it again, having owned it for Xbox previously. $10 isn't bad though.

I should have said cross-purchase. I think Microsoft has something where if you purchase a Microsoft game for Xbox, you also get it for Windows, and vice versa.

The program is call Xbox Play Anywhere. If a game is part of Xbox Play Anywhere, you buy it once, be it on Xbox One, Xbox Series, or PC - Microsoft Store, and you own it on all 3 platforms at no additional charge. This includes cross progression and in many instances, crossplay.

With Smart Delivery as well, the version optimized for your console will install automatically; no need to fumble around the store or anything to repurchase/install the correct version.

It still surprises me how many amazing programs and features Xbox has that people are just not aware of, sadly. There's so much value in the Xbox ecosystem.

I also realize that KI has Mira (Vampire), Sabrewulf (Werewolf), Kan-Ra (Mummy), Spinal (Skeleton), Hisako (Creepy undead girl), Omen (Demon), Aganos (Golem), and other monsters, so basically KI already sort of has a lot of it covered.

Man KI is an awesome game. I ever get a gaming PC that's one of my first pickups.
It's pretty impossible to out cool anything KI 2013 did

I think in this case I'd be less concerned about balance and matchups, and more concerned with custimization or variations. To me a big part of the draw of DnD is the ability to create and level up your own character. It's all about custom builds. So if I was a studio or game designer I'd focus as much as possible on getting the best customization and recreation of the Feats/Abilities/Stats, and let balance and matchups work itself out.

Basically, my stance would be that robust enough customization should let players essentially create their own balance, and Balance patches would only be needed to either refresh the meta or fix something broken. Otherwise players can figure it out for themselves.
tbh i'm not with you there. i get that customization is great fun, but i'm really more worried about balance which gets more difficult with every custmization option.

My dream is a dirty, gritty & realistic fighting game that pushes the boundaries like MK used to do. Realistic serial killers, hitmen, assassins, mob enforcers, government agents, criminals, vigilantes, martial artists (with no special powers), special forces, psychos & such. A tournament with the most sadistic killers hosted by a sinister oligarchy ran by a rich & beautiful femme fatale aristocrat.

The only thing that came to mind while I was reading this was Tao Feng: Fist of the Lotus. That was the game John Tobias made when he left Midway, after MK4 came out, to found his own game studio called Studio Gigante. Unfortunately the game didn't do well and shortly after Studio Gigante went defunct, I think. It's too bad, because there were some neat gameplay concepts in the game (I played it on Xbox). It's just that the game itself wasn't that much fun. There was something missing from it, I just can't quite pinpoint what it was.

Either way, I'd love to see what Ed Boon and John Tobias (now that he is somewhat associated with the original MK team again) do with the concepts from that game.
