Noob
Hello, I'm kinda new here, just wanted to share with you that I'm composing a theme for every character from MK Universe (even characters from 3D era, yeah).
First off, I'm a huge fan of Dan Forden. He's one of the reasons I started to make music. Ever since MK3, his music instantly conquered my heart: Deception, Deadly Alliance, Armageddon, what a great soundtracks he composed for all these games.
After MK11, I felt that MK music changed, and, in my opinion, in wrong direction.
So, without further ado, let us begin. I almost forgot to apologize for my bad english, sorry, it's not my native.
Frost
Was super hyped to see that Frost is back in MK11. I loved her in Midway games and I love her in MK11. To compose this theme, I've used an old soviet analog synthesizer Электроника ЭМ-25. It has a lot of character.
D'Vorah
D'Vorah was a bit of a challenge. At first, I was planning to compose a theme for her using synths and synths only, but then I felt that it's not working. So I've changed pretty much everything to nsects sounds: percussion, drums, even guitar is morphed with the locust sounds.
Onaga
Onaga is one of my favorite characters in MK universe, not just another generic evil dragon villian, but a smart deciever. I wanted to make his theme as massive as possible.
Erron Black
Erron Black is probably the best newcomer in my opinion. He's just like Stryker, but without any significant flaws. Deadly, accurate and extremely dangerous Gunslinger. His theme is pretty much what I feel western gunfight feels like. I just wish NRS developed him more.
Kano
Kano is a pure teeeechno. Back at the day, my dad used to deliver me to every techno gig that was around in our town, the whole track is a huge tribute to MK: Mythologies and MK: Annihilation.
Jax
At first, I was thinking to write some generic 808 kinda beat, but then I realized that it's tooo generic, so I made sound a bit industrialized to acknowledge his augments and stuff.
Kabal
Kaballin, baby. This theme fully represents Kabal back at the Midway days. I don't really like how NRS retconned him into generic villian puppet, but we have what we have.
Noob Saibot
The whole stuff about Noob Saibot is about to capture the void thing. The neverending darkness, the pain and the agony of what this character has passed through.
Ermac
Ermac theme was inspired by stuff that Nathan Grigg composed for F. E. A. R. and Condemned. I'm a huge fan of his unique sound and I think that pianos, bass guitars, heavy percussion and distorted vocals suite King Jerrod a lot.
Kung Lao
Kung Lao's theme is bassicaly a remake of my favorite MK arena. Somehow I always felt that this theme suits him the best. Taiko drums and traditional chinese instruments were used and combined with guitars in order to show his legacy.
Johnny Cage
Heeeeeere's Johnny! Well, you know the drill. It would be a sin to compose a theme for Johhny Cage and not to acknowledge that he was inspired by JCVD and Bloodsport.
Baraka
Baraka was an interesting orchestral experiment. Although I'm pretty bad when it comes to orchestra, I've tried to show all Tarkatan pride and furiosity of this race.
Kotal Kahn
When it comes to Kotal, you have to do some research about the nature of Aztec culture. Their instruments, spirits and other stuff. Fascinating culture.
Skarlet
Skarlet theme was a pure improvisation, I was thinking about her childhood a lot: living in the streets, fighting for food, etc.
Sonya Blade
A theme for Sonya Blade was completely inspired by Sarah Schachner soundtrack for Modern Warfare. Agressive cellos, military rhytms. I really digged into that score.
Cassie Cage
MKX Cassie, in my opinion, was a blast. I tried to came up with all that modern wooby-dooby electronic sound that pretty mainstream these days.
Geras
Geras, for me, is a very tragical character. Endless, immortal. That's just scary.

Jacqui Briggs
The whole idea about Jacqui's theme was to create a midtempo Cyberpunk-like track that shows how she manages to balance between martial arts and high-tech gadgets.

Stryker
Although Stryker is forgotten and probably never coming back, I've tried to create something like Johan Johannsonn did with the Sicario, to create some kind of a minimalistic military tension and atmosphere.

Triborg
Cyrax, Sektor, Smoke & Cyber Sub-Zero. That's a crazy combination of characters in one.

So far that's it. Please, let me know what you think!
