Do any noob players feel Spawn plays similarly? I noticed a bunch of noob players went Spawn. And spawn has better hit adv, plus frames, better movement (while noob is amongst slowest in the game), equal if not better damage, viable KBs...

What do yall think?
Yep. I played him the whole first week he came out and got almost all his gear. He has the same kind of mistake baiting playstyle, but with better buttons, damage, safety, and a solid universal fireball Noob can only get in Dark Sabbath.

It takes me FOREVER to feel comfortable with a new character. Kollector and kitana are my only secondaries. I get annoyed playing against spawn but I'm getting curious if I'd enjoy playing him. Guess I gotta grind it out lol.

He's frustratingly slow for me. The only other people I've been close to Noob comfort level with are Raijin Raiden because of the Doomsday-ish simple but efficient approach, and Ace Of Knaves Joker because he's a relentless top tier killing machine. Beyond that, it's all Sabbath all the time. Once you finally get used to B1 1+3 timing and spacing out your F2's so you don't get D2'd out of your shoes, it's hard to feel settled elsewhere.

Slow, really? I messed around in the lab and his back and fwd walk speed seem the same if not a little faster than noob's. His dashes are stupid better.

That's true. Maybe it's just because he's a big floaty body type, like an Injustice Power character VS an Acrobatic type. I need to go back to the lab and try him out again in V3.

Noob
I play jaded and nightwolf and have been thinking of adding noob but every time I fight a spawn I'm like... I'm pretty sure that's a really good character that most people at my level aren't playing that well. he just seems to have such great space control. but noob is more interesting to me, I prefer to stick with MK characters too. but maybe I'll lab some spawn again before settling on my next character (noob won a battle with like half the cast for who I'd want to put time into, who I think fits my preferred style, but I disregarded spawn and this thread oddly is making me rethink that)

He's not similar in any way to Noob but I play Kloud Walker Fujin with the same game plan as I play Dark Sabbath Noob. My strong game with him is baiting and punishing with the B11 String into full combo or bullying the guy with the back wind move into needle. It's pretty much pokes in close range (D1 or D3), back dash, B11 or B2 which feels exactly like doing pokes into back dash B1,1+3 with Noob. The difference is that if you feel the guy downloaded you, you can gimmick him out by utilizing the slide (which has a ridiculously big confirm window) and Sky Wakka cancels into grabs or pokes.

My KL history was pretty much "Most Played: Noob" every season, although I played Kabal and Shang here and there, this current season I mained Fujin while picking Noob against some specific characters like Cetrion and Jade for example.

All too easy...
Does anybody know how to do the mb slide/up clone, and ghost ball brutalities? Do you need to unlock them first somehow? I heard the slide was be below 30% but that didnt work, is there a button input too?

I believe you have to unlock them in the towers first. 30% or lower for the upshadow brute and 50% or more health for the ghost ball brute

Here I am, yet again, trying to jump back on the Noob train. Prob the 4th or 5th time I've tried but I think we might stick this time. Still using Variation 2. God damn are those optimals hard online. Timing the b1 after Tele Slam 1,1,3 is always a nightmare.

The random towers that pop up? Ive completed the character towers
Yes. Some of those towers that pop up are Noob towers that have brutality as a reward. But you can also beat other towers (those that only have 1 boss tower) and if you beat it with good enough score you unlock brutal difficulty which if you beat it it can give you a brutality for a character you beat it with. That's the easiest and fastest way to farm brutalities. Except for DLC characters released after Joker. It doesn't work for them for some reason unless they fixed it.

After exploring other chars I think Noob has the shaft in terms of brutalities. The endless shadow portal one is only available in Dark Sabbath, thats like THE trademark noob brutal imo

This character will actually be fun to use now.

The combination of slide and spirit ball ought to be strong in the neutral.
Hes always been fun to use imo. But this a huge for us. Spirit ball slide and EXtele combo pretty much covers up alot if not all the holes he had in his game.

These will be pretty much the go-to variation moves to cover much of his holes. Or which other moves do you guys think would be useful?

Anti zoning variation could be air tele, amp tele combo, and slide?? Not the best anti zoning character, but good for Noob maybe?? Just a loadout to have in our pocket for like Cetrion.

Not sure if I’d trade the spirit ball for a AMP tele. I think just the air teleport will be quite useful against low projectiles to punish for a nice 16% and we’ll be back into range for more offense. Not sure though

This is what I went with. Air tele for cheeky jump kick combos that net around 300 for a bar if you have the tele combo special.

Tele combo for easy high damage combos and easy to hit confirm into.

Slide for zoning and keep away.

Very interesting. That could be a fun load out to test. And yeah trading with spirit ball is often in Noob's favor, although characters that have a low fireball would be a problem imo. that said some of them low profile the tele too :/

Personally I'd love if the overhead move from V3 got buffed and/or fixed (as in I can cancel into it off strings, even in the corner, etc). Playing Noob with spirit ball, slide, and the overhead would be a super fun zoning version of Noob. Kinda reminisce of MK9 (minus the cool portal set ups).

I know you can do AMP overhead into a teleport for like 20% from full screen, but that’s to be labbed further once everything comes out, who knows what they’ll change at this point

The overhead clone kind of sucks. If I recall correctly, the move starts up in 33 frames, is unsafe on block unless you amplify, and disappears on trades like the tackle.

Spirit ball, slide, and aerial tele-slam will be the best zoning and anti-zoning variation. Anti-zoning zealots will equip anti-projectiles moves, though, in which case we equip shadow portals, sickle snag, and another special move of your choice as the most effective and most damaging rush down variation.

... assuming none of the special moves get normalized or the slots get altered. LOL.
